First 5 – Week of August 29, 2022

TOT LOT: You might have noticed work happening in our “tot lot” playground on the south side of our building. Due to low usage and safety concerns, the equipment is being removed and replaced with natural landscaping and a sidewalk to improve access to the south employee entrance and the appearance of the area (in keeping with our #4 customer service key). We will continue to offer our full playground on the east side of our building to serve children and families.

MONSTER MASH: Save the date for our annual trunk-or-treat event on Friday, October 28th from 5–7pm. Families can come dressed in their favorite costumes and visit local organizations and businesses in the Kroc Center parking lot to collect candy and other goodies. Help us spread the word by sharing our Facebook event.

RESTORING HEALTH: We had a great celebration recently for the participants in the Restoring Health Program! Over the past 14 weeks, they participated in weekly fitness classes, health coaching, and healthy eating classes. Shout out to Chris Reinsma and Keely Newbeck for all their hard work leading the group! The next session of Restoring Health begins on Tuesday, September 6th.

PRE-COMPETITIVE SWIM CLINIC: We recently added a new swim clinic to the fall program schedule. This clinic will meet 2 days a week for 6 weeks and will focus on fine-tuning stroke technique, as well as building a foundation of endurance and stamina for longer distances than a typical swim lesson allows for. This is perfect for swimmers who want to prepare for a school or club swim team. Online registration can be found here.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND & POOL CLOSURE: Please keep in mind that the Kroc Center is OPEN with regular hours on the Friday and Saturday of Labor Day weekend (September 2 & 3). The Kroc Center will be CLOSED on Monday, September 5 in observance of Labor Day. The Aquatics Center will remain CLOSED for deep cleaning and repairs from September 6-10.

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Accountant; Group Exercise Instructor; Fitness Attendant; Personal Trainer; Music Instructor; Drama Instructor; Swim Instructor; Lifeguard.
