First 5 – Week of March 20, 2023

SPRING BREAK: We’re starting to get lots of questions about our Spring Break schedule. Please direct people to GrKrocCenter.org (click the main banner on our homepage). That page has all the information regarding the schedule and includes steps on how to register for open swim times and day passes. Below are some important details:

  • All activities will be free for members. Non-members may purchase a special Spring Break day pass for $12 (all ages).
  • Open Swim blocks will be divided into sessions with specific start/end times, so guests will never have to worry about waiting to get into the pool. More details on the registration process can be found online here.
  • Spring Break shifts are now posted in Sling for any employees looking to pick up additional hours (make sure to check with your supervisor first!)

GOOD FRIDAY AND EASTER HOLIDAYS:  Just a reminder that Good Friday, April 7th is an Admin Holiday (the building is open normal hours). Kroc Church will have special Good Friday and Easter Services at the following times:

  • Friday, April 7th:  Good Friday Service (6 PM)
  • Sunday, April 9th: Breakfast (9 AM), SONrise Service (9:15 AM), Worship Service (10 AM)

KROC-STRUCTION: After 12 years of serving our community, we’ll be undergoing some building improvements this spring – the biggest changes since the Kroc opened in 2010.
The highlight of our renovation project will be the addition of new locker rooms on the second floor, replacing the current restrooms and Fitness Studio C.  Some additional changes you will notice:

  • A new Welcome Desk area and traffic flow for check-in and check-out, increasing safety for kids in our Child Watch rooms and the south fine art/education hallway;
  • A new office area for our membership team in place of the current Welcome Desk;
  • A new welcome center for Kroc Church just outside the Worship and Performing Arts Center; and,
  • Changes to the main guest entryway to improve energy efficiency.

Construction will begins in mid-April. The entire project is expected to take about three months. You can see images of the plans and designs on the new “Kroc-struction” page of our website. These plans will also be posted on our “Kroc Refrigerator” just inside the check-in gates.

CAMP KROC STAFF DISCOUNT:  We will again be offering a 50% staff discount for Camp Kroc this summer! In order to use this discount, you will need to email Alyson Rodriguez with your full name (as it appears in Club Automation) as well as the children that will be using the discount. She will then apply the discount code to your account so you can register for camp, and the adjusted price should automatically appear at checkout. This discount will only apply to your immediate family members, i.e. your children and dependents as linked to your account in Club Automation. Note that the discount does not apply to before/after care, junior counselors, or specialty camps.

MARCH MOVES: You still have time get MOVE-ing with our March fitness challenge! All members who track their workouts in the myKroc Wellness mobile app will be eligible to participate in the March MOVEs challenge – the top male and female users in three different age groups will win cool prizes. Stop by the Fitness Desk for more information!
