First 5 – Week of March 6, 2023

NEW TO THE KROC KREW: Please help welcome our new Youth Mission and Ministry Supervisor, Chris Handzel. Chris comes to us with a wealth of ministry knowledge and experience. Having served as Lead Pastor and Family Pastor for many years, Chris is well versed in team leadership and planning, which will come in handy as he works with Day Camp this summer! Please be in prayer for Christian as he transitions to his new role and be sure to stop by his cubicle to in the admin office and say hello.

CAMP KROC: Registration is now open and the Summer Day Camp Guide is available at the Welcome Desk or online here. Below are some additional things you should be aware of, as we have already started getting some questions:

  • Specialty Camps (half-day camps for specific activities) will be returning this summer, and have a separate guide. Check it out here.
  • Camp scholarship applications are now available online and at the Welcome Desk. The deadline to apply for a camp scholarship is May 1.
  • Registration for all camps will run through Club Automation (like the rest of our programs).
  • Positions are already posted for Day Camp Counselors – see ’employment news’ below for a link.

CAMP KROC STAFF DISCOUNT:  We will again be offering a 50% staff discount for Camp Kroc this summer! In order to use this discount, you will need to email Alyson Rodriguez with your full name (as it appears in Club Automation) as well as the children that will be using the discount. She will then apply the discount code to your account so you can register for camp, and the adjusted price should automatically appear at checkout. This discount will only apply to your immediate family members, i.e. your children and dependents as linked to your account in Club Automation. Note that the discount does not apply to before/after care, junior counselors, or specialty camps.

MARCH MOVES: Get MOVE-ing this month with a new fitness challenge! All members who track their workouts in the myKroc Wellness mobile app will be eligible to participate in the March MOVEs challenge – the top male and female users in three different age groups will win cool prizes. Stop by the Fitness Desk for more information!

READING MONTH @ BROOKSIDE: The Brookside Elementary Parent Teacher Council is looking for Kroc Krew members and other volunteers to come read to students during March Is Reading Month. All it takes is a half-hour to visit the school and read to a group of 3rd-5th graders. The teachers have books available and can provide additional guidance, and you do not need to have a GRPS volunteer badge to participate. It would be AMAZING to flood the school with Kroc volunteers this month! There is a Google Sheet to sign up at this link; please speak with Jon Shaner if you have questions.

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Accounting Specialist; Group Exercise Instructor; Personal Trainer; Swim Instructor; Lifeguard; Day Camp Counselor; Fitness Lead (part-time)

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples observed recently:
