KROC KREW THANKSGIVING POTLUCK: Mark your calendar for Thursday, November 18 and our Thanksgiving employee potluck. Watch for more information about time, location, and types of dishes to bring for each department. Thanks to the EAT Committee for organizing one of our most filling events of the year!
NEW SCHEDULES: The Fall 2 recreation schedule is now in effect as the new program session gets underway. The biggest changes are on the drop-in fitness schedule. We’ll now be shifting attention to production of the Winter program guide, which will be available in mid-November.
NEW FITNESS MANAGER: We are excited to announce that Margarita Gonzalez is the Kroc Center’s new fitness manager! Over the past several years, Margarita has held multiple roles in the fitness department: Zumba instructor, fitness attendant and fitness lead. She began her employment at the Kroc Center in 2014. In addition to her past experience at the Kroc Center, Margarita brings a variety of skills to her new position including leadership, administration, and customer service. This is in addition to her love for the mission of The Salvation Army. Please be sure to stop by, say hello, and give words of encouragement as she begins her new role. Her official start date is set for November 14th, however we will start the transition immediately. In addition, we want to take time to recognize all of the fitness leads: Jake, Victoria, and Margarita. They have all helped provide leadership over the past nine months while we have been without a manager. Their support and commitment to the fitness floor and the overall Kroc Center operations has been greatly appreciated. We couldn’t have done it without you.
COVID-19 TESTING: From HR Specialist Kristin Hoin…
“Free and fast COVID testing can be difficult to find at this time. Many places have begun charging an administrative fee that insurance won’t cover, so when you are scheduling a test be sure to ask if there are any charges associated with the test. I know that Mercy Health and Walgreens are both currently charging administrative fees. You can search for testing locations here: https://www.accesskent.com/Health/covid-19-testing.htm Meijer and D&W are offering free testing the last I checked. These locations do not show up on the Access Kent website or on their own pharmacy websites. You need to schedule here: www.doineedacovid19test.com The Health Bar offers walk in testing that is also free last I checked: www.healthbar.com You can also call 888-535-6136 #2 to obtain information about testing locations. Please remember to notify your supervisor and/or me if you are symptomatic or have had a COVID exposure for guidelines on how to follow up. You can also contact me at any time with questions.”
