THE CAMP GUIDE IS READY! The Summer Day Camp Guide is now available at the Welcome Desk and online at GrKrocCenter.org. Below are some additional things you should be aware of, as we have already started getting some questions:
- Specialty Camps (half-day camps for specific activities) will be returning this summer, and have a separate similar-looking guide. That guide will be available soon.
- Camp scholarship applications are now available online and at the Welcome Desk. The deadline to apply for a camp scholarship is May 1.
- Registration for all camps will run through Club Automation (like the rest of our programs). Registration will be open by March 1 at the latest (hopefully sooner).
- Positions are already posted for Day Camp Counselors – see ’employment news’ below for a link.
- The Kroc Center will once again be hosting a Summer Camp Fair in partnership with the Grand Rapids Kids website on Saturday, April 23.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH: Kevin Chilton, our Child Watch Lead will be in the lobby this month with a resource table on Black History. Kevin has researched materials and books for all ages so we can continue to educate ourselves, families, and the community about Black history and how equity and social justice can take place. Be sure to stop by his table this Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:30pm.
NEW REC GUIDE: The Winter 2 Rec Guide is now available at the Welcome Desk and online at GrKrocCenter.org. Below are some changes you should make note of:

- Child Watch hours are changing. New hours are M–TH: 9–11am, 5–8pm. Saturday: 9–11am.
- Aquatics now has the zero-depth area open on Monday (4–7:45pm) and Tuesday (9–11:55am). This is a great area for families with small children to splash and play.
- The Fitness schedule has a few new classes and some of the regular classes have new times. Be sure to review that schedule in case members have questions.
SPRING PROGRAM SESSION: The Spring Program Guide is available now! Guides are available at the Welcome Desk and GrKrocCenter.org. Below are some important dates to remember:

LIFEGUARD TRAINING: In light of our current lifeguard needs, and in recognition of the roughly 40 hours of training required for new hires, we are instituting a new program, effective immediately. In addition to covering the cost of lifeguard training, new lifeguards will be reimbursed for their training time. A one-time reimbursement of $400 will be provided after 90 days of employment. Please refer anyone who may be interested to Jessica Viau.
