NEW PROGRAM & REC GUIDES: The new Summer 2 Rec Guide and Fall 1 Program Guides are now available around the building and at GrKrocCenter.org. There are a couple of new classes being offered, along with other changes — be sure to read them, know them, and love them!
KROC-STRUCTION: We were notified yesterday by our contractors that a supply issue will now delay the opening of the second-floor locker rooms until at least August 8. The lockers themselves will not be installed until September, so even after opening, guests will need to use the lockers in the hallway near the track entrance. Progress continues on the first-floor membership offices as well.
MAINTENANCE WEEK SHUTDOWN: As a reminder, the Kroc Center will be closed to the public for our annual maintenance week September 11-17. Communication was already shared as part of an email to members, but we will start posting reminders around the building over the next couple of weeks. As always, we will need extra help in deep-cleaning the Aquatics Center and other areas of the building, so please be watching for communication from your supervisor about projects in your department and the possibility of picking up hours elsewhere as well!
AYSO FALL REGISTRATION: Registration is open for the fall season of AYSO until August 13th. Players will learn about good sportsmanship, make new friends, and develop their soccer skills in this eight-week league. Registration is available online at ayso1634.org.
KROC KREW SUMMER BBQ: Thanks for another great EAT Committee “Backyard BBQ” last week! Mark your calendar for the final event of the summer on Thursday, August 17 from 12-1pm under the fitness floor balcony. We’ll be sure to save some food for the evening staff as well.
OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Lifeguard; Child Watch Attendant; Welcome Desk Attendant.
Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples observed recently:
- Robin Owens received kudos from a new employee about her kindness and patience with all our members.
- New personal trainer Jason Carwile stepped outside his comfort zone to work with a client who doesn’t speak English.
- Eddie Acker responded calmly and promptly to a situation where a child locked herself in the restroom by mistake.
Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:
- Lobos Soccer: Saturday, 3-8:30pm; Sunday, 12-7pm; Outdoor Soccer Fields
- Fit Kids on the Move: Tuesday, 5-6:30pm; Outdoor Fields
Each week, members of the Kroc Center and Kroc Church submit a number of requests for prayer. We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9am (currently in the Music Room); if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.
- For 13-year-old Grace, a former Camp Kroc day camper, who is hospitalized with an as-yet-undiagnosed illness, suspected to be cancer.
- General prayer requested for the families of Keith Merritt and Patricia Hamilton.
- For Major Mark Nance, slowly recovering from a broken femur.
- For the brother of Major Tracy Ruston, injured in a motorcycle accident.
Be sure to wish a Happy Birthday to our Kroc Krew colleagues:
- Ivy Mattson: 7/27
- Lisa VanDyk: 7/30
