HOLIDAY TREATS FOR STAFF: The EAT Committee will be blessing our Kroc Krew with some pre-Christmas treats this week! There will be hot cocoa and cookies available for employees in the poolside conference room Tuesday-Thursday (17th-19th) from roughly 10am-6pm daily. Enjoy!

DECEMBER MEMBERSHIP PROMOTIONS: As is typically the case during the month of December, we have launched our $0 Registration Fee promotion for all new memberships in advance of the New Year’s rush. Additionally, we are selling day pass certificates ‘buy one, get one free’ as gift ideas through December 24. See the membership or marketing teams for more information.

HOLIDAY HOURS: We have made a slight change to Kroc facility hours for both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. We will still open at 5:30am on both of those days, but the building will close at 1:00pm to avoid having to bring in afternoon staff. As a reminder, the Kroc is fully closed on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

CHRISTMAS HIMSING: On Thursday, December 19 at 1pm, join us in the Worship & Performing Arts Center for a fun time of carols and fellowship with Kroc Church and the Older Adult Programming team. Employees are welcomed to attend!

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: As we get into the winter months, here is a reminder of our employee handbook’s policy regarding weather-related cancellations and closings: Building Closures “When there is a need to close the building for any reason, or a need for a delayed start time, employees will be notified by the specified method for each location. Employees who can work remotely will be expected to do so on those days; employees who are unable to work remotely will be paid for their regular time on those days. Check with your supervisor to clarify the expectations for your position. If the office is open and is forced to close early for unusual reasons (e.g. inclement weather, building issues), all employees who reported for work will be paid for the full scheduled shift. If the location is not closed and inclement weather prohibits an employee from reporting to work, the employee must notify their supervisor, and the employee will be required to use available personal, discretionary, or vacation time. If no such time is available, the day will be unpaid.”

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Lifeguard, Child Watch Attendant, Fitness Attendant.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests!
- Even though he was off the clock, Pete Bentancourt recognized and responded to a medical emergency situation in the gymnasium.

- The Aquatics staff handled a series of unfortunate events, including a contamination, with good professionalism.

Each week, members of the Kroc Center and Kroc Church submit a number of requests for prayer. We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9am in the Administration Foyer; if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.
- Health and protection for all Kroc Krew and family during this transition of seasons.

Each week, we feature a “Note from the Pastor” and Bible verse from Captain Jack Huffman and the Kroc Church team. If you ever want to hear more about these topics, join us for Kroc Church Sunday mornings at 10am.
The Scandal, The Incarnation, and Emmanuel – Luke 1:18-25
In Luke 1:18-25, Zechariah’s doubt at the angel’s announcement reveals a powerful truth: God often works in ways that challenge our understanding. The promise of a child to an elderly couple well beyond their years of conceiving a child seemed impossible, yet it emphasizes how God’s plans unfold beyond our own abilities. In moments of doubt, we are reminded to trust His sovereign plan for our own lives.
This miraculous birth of John points us to an even greater miracle—the incarnation of Jesus Christ. God took on flesh to dwell among us, bringing heaven to earth. The miracle of the incarnation assures us that God is not distant but personally invested in redeeming and restoring His creation.
As Elizabeth rejoiced in her blessing, we too celebrate the promise of Emmanuel—God with us. His presence sustains us through every trial, reminding us that we are never alone. This Advent season, may we marvel at His grace, embrace His promises, and rest in the joy of His abiding presence.
