First 5 – Week of January 6, 2025

Payroll Week reminder: Did you approve/submit your timecard?

NEW PROGRAM SCHEDULES: As the Winter 1 program session begins this week, there are a LOT of changes to the Drop-In Rec Guide (see some details below). Please make sure to look over the latest schedule. The Winter 2 program guide will be available later this week, with registration opening on Monday, January 20.

JANUARY MEMBERSHIP PROMOTION: Our $0 Registration Fee promotion for all new memberships continues for the New Year’s resolution season. See the membership or marketing teams for more information.

DROP-IN YOUTH FUTSAL: This drop-in activity, which was a huge hit with families last winter, is back on the Winter 1 schedule on Tuesday evenings from 5-7pm. Hosted by the Kroc Center’s AYSO Region 1634, indoor futsal is designed to keep youth soccer players having fun and developing skills during the winter months. Pick–up style play will be supervised by Kroc staff and/or certified AYSO volunteer coaches. Families DO need to register for this activity, as capacity is limited.

LES MILLS VIRTUAL ADDITIONS: We are launching a number of NEW Les Mills Virtual drop–in fitness classes for the new year! These classes are FREE with any paid membership and are easy to participate in. Check the group exercise schedule to find times for BODYATTACK, LES MILLS DANCE, RPM, THE TRIP, and BORN TO MOVE. BORN TO MOVE is especially exciting to add, as it is designed for kids as young as 7 years old (with a supervising adult). We’ll be offering two levels of BORN TO MOVE for different age groups listed as ‘Beginner’ (recommended for ages 7-8) and ‘Intermediate’ (9-12).

MLK JR. DAY REMINDER: The Kroc Center is OPEN with regular hours on Monday, January 20, but it is an administrative holiday.

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Lifeguard, Child Watch Attendant, Fitness Attendant.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests!

  • Pete and Flo were conscientious in their handling of a sensitive issue with a guest in the lobby.
  • Lily and Ellen have picked up lots of extra shifts at the Welcome Desk amid a run of illnesses in the membership department.

Each week, members of the Kroc Center and Kroc Church submit a number of requests for prayer. We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9am in the Administration Foyer; if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.

  • Blanice B – Help to become money stable, with post-partum depression, open my eyes, protect my family, help to do the right thing
  • Derrick M – Prayers for Family
  • Jazmine S – Continue to have a safe pregnancy and the continued ability to pay rent for family

Each week, we feature a “Note from the Pastor” and Bible verse from Captain Jack Huffman and the Kroc Church team. If you ever want to hear more about these topics, join us for Kroc Church Sunday mornings at 10am.

It’s A New Year! Are You Ready For A New You?Romans 6:11-14

Every year we celebrate the incoming new year with friends and family. We make plans to gather and have a party, go to see a movie, visit friends and family, or like many of us, do our best to stay up long enough to see the ball drop-in Times Square, kiss a loved one to usher in the new year and rush off to bed.

Many of us make a commitment to swear something off, to stop practicing a bad habit, to change our eating habits, begin to work out and many more New Year’s resolutions. All of these are done in the hopes of living a better life in the new year and making ourselves feel better.

The best resolution that we can make in this new year is to stop living in our willful sin. If you truly want to live a better life and feel better about yourself, then make the decision to turn from your sin and surrender your life to Christ. The change you desire can only come God alone and He is waiting for you to choose your new life in Him today.

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • No outside rentals this week

Be sure to wish a Happy Birthday to our Kroc Krew colleagues:

  • Colton Standorf – January 5
