EXPUNGEMENT FAIR: On Saturday, May 3, the Kroc Center will once again host the “Project Clean Slate” expungement fair from 9am-3pm. This event is organized by the City of Grand Rapids. We anticipate a large volume of phone calls and other questions about registration and other details, as many people mistakenly believe we are in charge of it — please direct these questions to the City at 616-456-3000 or the Clean Slate website.

GRPS SWIM LESSONS – AQUATICS SCHEDULE CHANGE: Just another reminder that the pool, hot tub, and other aquatic facilities will be closing at noon due to Grand Rapids Public School swim lessons. These changes will run through June 7th. The pool will resume its regular schedule at 4 PM each day. To ensure a smooth transition for the students and to minimize congestion, we kindly ask that members who typically visit between 11:00 AM and 11:55 AM use the men’s and women’s locker rooms as much as possible. This will help avoid overcrowding in the family locker room cabanas, which will close at 11:30 AM.

CAMP KROC EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT: Great news! We are offering a 50% discount on summer camp for the children of our staff, bringing the cost down to $97.50 per child per week. If you’d like to take advantage of this opportunity, simply let Alyson Rodriguez know via email or in person, and she will add the discount to your account. Don’t miss out on this chance to give your children an unforgettable summer camp experience at a reduced cost!

We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 am in the Administration Foyer; if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.
- Prayers for safety during the GRPS swimming lessons

Each week, we feature a “Note from the Pastor” and Bible verse from Captain Jack Huffman and the Kroc Church team. If you ever want to hear more about these topics, join us for Kroc Church Sunday mornings at 10am.
Who Do You Say That I Am – Matthew 16:13-25
In the region of Caesarea Philippi, Jesus asked His disciples what people were saying about His identity, noting some thought He was John the Baptist, Elijah, or another prophet. Then He turned to them with the pivotal question, “But who do you say that I am?”. Simon Peter boldly declared, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God”.
Jesus responded to Peter, pronouncing him blessed, because this revelation came from the Father in heaven. He then shifted from identity to destiny, forecasting His own suffering, death, and resurrection, and declaring that true discipleship would require self-denial and cross-bearing. He made clear that “whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it”.
We are called today to contemplate who we say Jesus is, ensuring our trust in the Lord rests not on hearsay but on faith’s encounter with the living Christ. Let our lives be built upon Him as our unshakable rock, trusting His authority, grace, and sacrificial love. And as we follow Him, may we daily take up our cross, die to self, and find true life in His name.
