Each week, members of the Kroc Center and Kroc Church submit a number of requests for prayer. We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 am in the Administration Foyer; if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.
- Prayers for a safe and fun year of summer day camp!

Each week, we feature a “Note from the Pastor” and Bible verse from Captain Jack Huffman and the Kroc Church team. If you ever want to hear more about these topics, join us for Kroc Church Sunday mornings at 10am.
Responding to God’s Call – 2 Peter 1:3-10
In 2 Peter 1:3–10, the apostle reminds us that God’s “divine power” has already provided everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Jesus Christ. Peter urges believers to confirm the reality of their calling by cultivating a series of virtues—faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, mutual affection, and love. He paints a picture of the Christian life as one of continual growth: each virtue builds on the one before, so that what began as faith blossoms into a fruitful, steadfast witness.
This passage speaks to both God’s initiative and our response. God graciously calls us into relationship and equips us with every spiritual resource, yet He also invites us into active partnership: we are to “make every effort” to develop Christlike character. Our “calling and election” are living realities that bear observable fruit. When we fail to grow, Peter warns that we “will never stumble” in our faith—our security rests in Christ’s power, not our perfection—but we do forfeit the fullness of the life God intends.
Let us, therefore, reflect today: in which virtues is your faith strongest, and where might you ask the Spirit’s help to deepen perseverance or self-control? this week take the time to study practical ways to cultivate these qualities, or to spend intentional time in prayer asking God to reveal one specific virtue for growth. By responding to His call with diligence and dependence, we step more fully into the abundant life He has promised.
