New Kroc Hats Available: We now have some very nice Kroc Center baseball caps for sale for members and staff at the Welcome Desk. They are $25 each (plus sales tax), and the net proceeds will go toward our Salvation Army World Services goal. Also, if you were wondering, this hat MAY be worn as part of your on-shift uniform (– but only THIS hat!)
Father’s Day at the Kroc: Similar to the Mother’s Day event we held on May 11, we’re giving families an easy and fun way to spend time together just before the Father’s Day holiday on Saturday, June 15 from 1-6pm. The event is FREE for Kroc members and includes all recreation access plus a pizza dinner. Pool & Play Pass holders can attend for $5 per person, and non-members are $10 per person. Find details and a link to register on the Events page at GrKrocCenter.org.
World’s Largest Swim Lesson: Join the Kroc Center, along with aquatics facilities around the world, for this FREE one-hour introduction to water safety and skills. We’ll hold the event on Thursday, June 20 at 11am. Registration in advance is required. Find details and a link to register on the Events page at GrKrocCenter.org.
Upcoming Kroc Krew events: Please mark Sunday, July 14 at 5 PM on your calendar for the Kroc Krew Summer Family Picnic. Information is posted in each department about this fun event. We’ll also be holding staff cookouts in the maintenance building on the following Thursdays this summer from 12-1 PM: June 20; July 18; and, August 15.
Did You See? Congrats to Camp Kroc counselor Toby Reinsma for his success at the MHSAA Track & Field state finals last weekend! As a senior for Potter’s House, Toby finished 6th in the state in the 800-meter run, and anchored the 4×800 relay team to a 7th place finish. Be sure to congratulate Toby (if you can catch him)!
Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from the past week:
- Witnessed some great interactions between game room staff (Kevin and Samantha) and a number of the kids.
- Great job to Chris, Jessica and the rest of the day camp team on a successful first week of day camp.
- Thanks to Wynter and Adonys for working together to cover rock wall and game room.
- Kudos to Albert and Heather for assisting event guests.
- Kudos to Cheryl for assisting instructors and new guests during Les Mills BodyPump launch party.
- Melissa did a great job dealing with an upset guest who kept calling about a LPI issue. She spent over an hour on the phone with the guest and did a great job reassuring her that we would help to our best ability!
