✝️ Note from the Pastor
Yet I Will Rejoice
In Psalm 18:1–3 David bursts forth with a personal testimony of trust: “I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer.” He paints a scene of danger and distress relieved by God’s rescuing hand, calling the Lord the sure refuge to whom he runs in the day of trouble (Psalm 18:1–3). This is not distant theology but the raw response of a soul saved and sustained.
The truth David declares shows us that rejoicing is rooted in who God is, not in the absence of trouble. When we name God as rock, fortress, and deliverer, we anchor our hearts in His unchanging character—His strength, faithfulness, and saving power. “Yet I will rejoice” becomes the faithful posture of those who have seen God’s past deliverances and therefore trust Him for present and future battles.
Bring the burdens you cannot carry to the Lord in prayer and rest in the assurance that He is your rock, fortress, and deliverer. Let rejoicing be your response—rooted not in circumstances but in the faithful character of God.
