🙌 Missional Moment
Breaking Chains Through Forgiveness
Unforgiveness strangles relationships and stifles the life of the Spirit. Jesus calls us to forgive “seventy times seven,” releasing others as we have been released.
In the early days of The Salvation Army, Commissioner George Scott Railton—one of William Booth’s most trusted leaders—was publicly criticized and falsely accused by fellow officers. Deeply wounded, he withdrew in bitterness for a time. But when Booth visited Railton, he didn’t scold or justify; he knelt beside him and prayed, weeping as he asked God to heal the rift. Railton later wrote that in that moment he felt “chains fall away” and “joy return,” and he rejoined the mission with renewed zeal. That act of forgiveness not only restored a friendship but re-ignited a movement of grace.
Forgiveness doesn’t minimize the wrong; it breaks the power it holds over us. It clears the way for flourishing to return.
Practice: Identify one person you need to forgive and take one step toward reconciliation.

✝️ Note from the Pastor
Think your mountain is too big? God can move it.
“But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15
We see God perform many miracles in Scripture through Jesus and the disciples. The blind receive sight, the lame walk, Lazarus is raised, water becomes wine, and more. One of the greatest miracles is Moses parting the Red Sea as Israel fled Pharaoh’s army (Exodus 15:13–22). God is a miracle worker and a way maker. If the mountain you face today feels too big, remember the Red Sea—and remember that even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains when we trust Him.
