This Saturday, Dec. 9, a very large private party will add up to 300 guests on top of busy Saturday morning traffic. As a result, parking will be very limited. All Kroc Krew members MUST park in the EAST (back) lot Saturday. Thanks for your cooperation.

A note from Lt. Bill:

“I wanted to inform you that Marcie Rower will be stepping down from the Program Assistant position effective Friday, January 19.

I’m sure you will agree with me that this is a big loss for the Kroc Center and Marcie will not be easily replaced. Marcie was one of the original employees of the Kroc Center and was originally hired as the executive assistant to the Senior Kroc Officer in the summer of 2009 when the Kroc Center was under construction.

We are grateful for her hard work and dedication to not only the program department, but to the entire Kroc Center. Marice was gifted in the areas of administration and was critical to the successful operation of the program department. While much of what Marcie did was behind the scenes, her important work enabled lives to be transformed forever because of her hard work, efficiency and attention to detail. Most importantly, she is a strong Godly woman who is a prayer warrior and always willing to help another.

We would invite you to join us in praying for Marcie and her family and wishing her well as she makes this transition.

Bell-ringing time is in full swing! We want to encourage all Kroc Krew members to volunteer for at least one two-hour shift. Talk to Laura Leisher to find a time and location that is convenient for you. On Saturday, December 9, we’re challenging all Kroc Krew members to ring as much as possible. ALL who participate will be invited to a special lunch on Monday, January 8.

If you have not yet received a new gray Kroc Krew shirt, please speak with your supervisor as soon as possible to get one. You WILL need to return the existing blue shirts.

Thanks to those who have already made a contribution to Casual for a Cause. If you want to wear jeans to work on Fridays, here’s what you can do:

  • Make a contribution at the Welcome Desk for the privilege of wearing jeans to work on Fridays (with a Kroc shirt)… $2 per week, $5 per month, or $50 for the whole year!
  • If you need more Kroc gear to wear with your jeans, buy a special Casual for a Cause shirt for $15 at the Welcome Desk, and proceeds will also go to World Services.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here’s an example from this week:

  • “Jacki and Laura (WD) dealt with a couple of unique membership situations. The members left happy so all was well! Way to go team!”
  • “Heaven nearly single-handedly managed the fairly busy drop-in basketball periods for several hours. Daniel in facilities pitched in as well.”
  • A number of guests have been complimenting our Christmas decorations!
