Staff parking note: The GR Kids Summer Camps Fair is Sunday, March 18. All Kroc Krew members will need to park in the east (back) lot on this day. If you are working the event, please plan on arriving by 12:00pm.
Spring program registration: If you haven’t looked through the new program guide, please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the contents. Signup for spring programs starts this Monday, March 12.
Spring break is coming! The Kroc Center’s busiest week of the year means that we need extra help across the board. If you are available to pick up extra hours in your department, or interested in possibly helping out in another area during that week, please be sure to speak with your supervisor as soon as possible.
New podcast! Have you ever met Trina Rookus, who teaches some of our early morning cycle classes? The Rookus family is doing awesome things within our neighborhood to support Brookside Elementary, along with volunteering at the Kroc, in our AYSO program, and much more. Take a few minutes to listen to Lt. Taylor interview Trina on the new episode of the “Become” podcast, available now. Search “GR Kroc Center” on iTunes or Soundcloud.
The new fundraising initiative for The Salvation Army World Missions is up and running at the Welcome Desk. Employees, members, and guests will have the opportunity to put their name on a paper “globe” for $5. When you see names you recognize, please make the donors feel special by thanking them for their contribution.
Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from this week:
- Kudos to our first responders for assisting an unconscious man in the lobby until emergency crews arrived.
- Paul and Tabi had a great conversation and prayed with a couple of members at the Welcome Desk.
- “Jacob Stout conducted an extra-thorough cleaning of the lockers in the men’s locker room when he noticed they needed attention.”
- “Niesha does a great job connecting with everyone in the gym. She knows everyone by name and what school they go to. She also helped to accommodate the after school program by allowing them to use the gym since it was slow.”
- Thanks to everyone who worked on Saturday 3/3 for dealing with the chaos caused by the power outage.
- “Cindy spent a lot of time engaging with members on the fitness floor. The members love her and she is great with making new members comfortable.”
