First 5 – Week of April 30, 2018

The EAT Committee will be holding a Cinco de Mayo celebration on Tres de Mayo (Thursday, May 3). There will be chips, salsa, and queso available on the crunchline from 12-1pm and 6-7pm. ¡Buen provecho!

Roof construction: Reminder that due to roof construction, the south parking lot is closed until construction is complete. Please make sure to communicate this within your departments.

As warmer weather (FINALLY) arrives, there is more traffic on our outdoor campus, including soccer rentals and AYSO. We will also open the outdoor basketball courts in May on weekends only. You can be a great help by monitoring activities and keeping the campus clean when you are outside.

Casual for a Cause Fundraising: The Kroc Center still needs to raise several thousand dollars to meet its Salvation Army World Missions goal by the end of April. Because of this, Lt. Bill has offered a special opportunity for all Kroc Krew members.

Purchase a $15 Casual for a Cause t-shirt at the Welcome Desk, and you may choose to wear it in place of your uniform shirt (other uniform guidelines still apply).

It’s hard to believe that May is here already! We’re excited to provide free swim lessons next month for more than 100 students from three GRPS elementary schools. Between this special program, other rental events, and the transition toward summer, there will be a number of schedule changes, especially in the Aquatics Center. Please be sure to look these over once they are posted, and help members adjust to the changes.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from this week:

  • Thanks to the whole Kroc Krew for your hospitality and professionalism during our surprise VIP visit from Candace Cameron Bure last Thursday. The publishers, TV crew, and Candace’s manager were all very complimentary about the Kroc Center and the experience.
  • Please send in more examples of radical hospitality!
