First 5 – Week of October 28, 2019

A Night of Worship with The Singing Company: November 9th at 7pm! Join us in the Kroc’s Worship and Performing Arts Center for an uplifting and inspirational evening of music! This event is FREE and open to the public.

Since their beginning in 2005, THE SINGING COMPANY has created music to draw listeners in to the truths of God’s Word, encourage and challenge the Church through relevant worship and expand the canon of music produced by The Salvation Army.

Drivers Needed: We need drivers for the kettle season to drop off and pick up bell ringers/ kettles. If you are a part-time employee  willing to pick up hours during the months of November and December, please follow these instructions:

1. Have a conversation with your supervisor to make sure that the scheduling can work. Make sure you are not double booking your schedule.
2. You would be paid your regular hourly rate.
3. You need to obtain a chauffeur license (not a CDL – see this link for details).
4. Once you get approval from your supervisor, see Melissa Roemer for scheduling.

We need two drivers each scheduled day from November 9th – 24th. We would need three drivers each scheduled day from November 25th – December 24th. The shifts would be from 1:30pm-3:30pm and 6:30pm -8:30pm each scheduled day. Thanks for your consideration!

Les Mills Challenge!  Our Les Mills Challenge is now open to ALL Kroc Center members! Here’s how it works: Pick up a punch card at the Fitness Desk or Welcome Desk, and then take at least one session of BODYPUMP, CXWORX, Sprint, and a virtual class of your choice. Everyone who completes their punch card will be entered to win gift cards and other prizes! See Cheryl Floyd or Bram Roberts with any questions.

I Dip, You Dip, We Dip: Join the EAT committee for a fun Fall Dip Party on Tuesday, October 29 from 12–1 PM, following RJ’s Mini Mash.

Sign up in your departments to bring your favorite dip, or if that’s not your style, bring your favorite dip delivery mechanism (chips, veggies, fruit, bread, etc.)

Outlets will be available in Classroom C/D beginning at 11 AM if you need to plug in a crockpot for warm dips. Hope to see you there!

World Missions Campaign: From Captain Bill… “Each year, every Salvation Army location has the task of raising funds for world missions. I am seeking pledges from our staff of $60 for the year. That comes to $1.15 per week, in which you would be helping individuals in great need. I am especially proud of the mission work The Salvation Army does overseas, including efforts to provide clean water and shelter, and fighting human trafficking. If you are interested in donating, please email me or Melissa Roemer ASAP. If you have any questions, please let me know.”

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from the past week:

  • “Staff all did a fantastic job informing guest about the fire drills so everyone was prepared when it was time. Great Job by all!”
  • “Cheryl Floyd knowing and greeting members by name as they registered for drop-in classes. She even checked many of them in without the member telling their names!”
  • “Great to hear the gospel choir for the first time.”

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:
