We had close to 200 people join us for the first Family Fun & Fitness Night of the season. Thanks to everyone who helped out! Encourage your friends to come to the next two weeks (July 18 & 25), starting at 5:45 with a family-friendly fitness class and continuing with the giant slip & slide until 8:30pm. It’s all free to both members and non-members.
National Night Out: Our annual celebration on behalf of the Garfield Park Neighborhoods Association is less than a month away. On Tuesday, August 7, we’re inviting everyone to the Kroc for more slip & slide fun, along with snacks and visits from the GR Police and Fire Departments. We also make space available at no charge for community organizations who want to share information or services with our neighborhood. If you have a connection with such a group, please have them email Jon Shaner at jon_shaner@usc.salvationarmy.org.
Next Sunday, July 22, join us at Church at the Kroc for a new sermon series, “Daring Faith: The Key to Miracles.” Weekly worship starts at 10am, and everyone is welcome!
While the registration deadline has already passed, we are leaving some space open for FCA Soccer Camp next week (July 23-27). On Monday, July 16 only, children of Kroc Krew members may register for these spots for free. Please see Katie Deatherage to register or if you have questions.
We have been fortunate to have had a quiet severe weather season so far, but it is important that we know what to do when a Severe Thunderstorm or Tornado Watch or Warning is issued. Please be sure to review your department’s emergency weather plan, and ask your supervisor if you don’t know where to find it.
