First 5 – Week of February 24, 2020

Microsoft Outlook migration: As of last Friday, the entire Central Territory is now using Microsoft Outlook as its email client. For those of you with Kroc email addresses, this brings the benefit of being able to use email from any Web browser (although non-exempt employees should talk to their supervisor about use of email while not clocked in). In addition, the Microsoft Teams app replaces the Sametime instant messaging service. Special thanks to Ron McMillen for helping to make sure this process goes smoothly here at the Kroc!

Kroc Fitness Bingo: It’s the last week to get your cards in for Kroc Fitness Bingo! Members and guests still have until the end of February to earn their ‘Bingos’ and enter to win prizes. Keep encouraging people to try new classes and pick up cards at the Welcome Desk or Fitness Desk.

AYSO Spring Registration: Do you know a child who wants to try soccer for the first time? Dick’s Sporting Goods is partnering with our AYSO Region 1634 to help out. This spring, any kid brand new to soccer will get a certificate for a free soccer ball, shoes, and shinguards at Dick’s. Registration ends March 15 — Please see Bram Roberts if you have any questions.

Membership promotion: We are still having new members come into the building daily! Please make sure they know about the current promotion. The offer is 6 for 5: Get one month free when you pay for six months of a new Kroc membership – plus, half off the registration fee.  Or, get TWO months free when you pay upfront for a full year – and we’ll waive the registration fee. This offer is valid until March 31.

Kroc Church News: Ash Wednesday is this week, February 26, marking the start of the season of Lent. As we follow Jesus to the cross and resurrection, it is a good time to reconnect and deepen our faith. Kroc Church has a new sermon series called “Revealed: the Names, Qualities, and Character of God.” You are welcome every Sunday morning at 10am! There is also a new Bible study for women entitled “Perfect Love,” which takes place Thursdays at 10am in the Music Room.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from the past week:

  • A note from a birthday party family: “We had such a great time at the party today! The room attendant (Wynter) was excellent and we loved the signage for our guests to help them find their way. Just wanted to pass this along and tell you it was awesome!”
  • “Melissa Roemer gave a few of our middle school members a snack from left over Meetup Monday food.”
  • “Niesha Lowe provided one of our small guests with a special toddler basketball hoop to play on.”
  • “Thanks to church member Hank Slagter, we were able to offer hot cocoa for free. Hank drives the Salvation Army Canteen truck. He finished his assignment had tons of hot cocoa left and thought of the Kroc… thanks Hank!”
