GRPS Swim Lessons start this week! While this is an important program for us to be able to provide to 2nd-graders in our neighborhood, we anticipate that we will get complaints from members about the changes to the pool schedule. We don’t want to dismiss these complaints, but rather attempt to reframe them in a positive way: “I understand these changes might disrupt your schedule. We’re so thankful to you and all our members for adjusting so we can help change the lives of these kids!”
GRPS Swim Help: We are in need of borrowing some umbrellas for this week’s swim lessons with Brookside. Since they will be walking over, we are hoping to have some extra umbrellas on hand to keep them dry in case of rain. If you have an umbrella we could borrow, please label it with your name and leave it at Marcie’s desk ASAP.
Also, we are in desperate need of males to help in the locker rooms. There is a sign up sheet on Bram’s door with dates and times – please sign up!
From Bram Roberts: We are excited to welcome Chel’le Venengar to our Kroc team! Chel’le will be working closely with Marcie and me as an assistant in the program department. Chel’le brings a variety of skills to her new position including administration and customer service.
Please be sure to stop by, say hello and give words of encouragement as she begins her new role. Chel’le will be here a few days a week and will work out of the cubicle next to Julie Taggart.
The Salvation Army released annual changes to officer appointments last week. Lt. Bill Brutto will still be the Senior Kroc Officer, but the job description for Lt. Taylor is changing slightly. Lt. Taylor will now be the officer of Congregational Life and Mission Integration. This does not have any major impact on Kroc Center operations and is only a small adjustment to the organizational chart. The Bruttos will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the change.
Roof construction: Reminder that due to roof construction, the south parking lot is closed until construction is complete. Please make sure to communicate this within your departments.
Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from this week:
- The facilities team made an important repair in the Aquatics Center Thursday in record time so that no swim lessons had to be rescheduled.
- Please send in more examples of radical hospitality!
