Join us on Sunday, June 24 from 5–7 PM for our quarterly all-staff meeting. This is a mandatory meeting and you will get paid (for the first hour). This meeting will include a BBQ in the amphitheater, complete with yard games and the slip & slide. Your significant other and family are also welcome. Please sign up in your department by Wednesday, June 20.
Day Camp Begins! Camp Kroc kicks off this Monday morning. This means we will have a lot of new parents and kids in the building who may not know where to go — especially considering we have moved Day Camp HQ to the Fireside Hall. Please make everyone feel welcome, including all the counselors who are returning for the summer or joining us for the first time!
Tuesday traffic: This Tuesday, June 12, is an exceptionally busy day at the Kroc. In addition to day camp, we have a group of 100+ people coming from Emmons Lake Elementary in Caledonia AND a luncheon of about 150 people in the WPAC. If you will be here during the daytime hours (roughly 9am-3pm), please park in the back (East) lot. These busy days with multiple events require all of us to be on our toes, both to make sure our guests have a great experience, and to watch for any potential issues related to Safe From Harm or other guidelines. Thanks in advance for your vigilance!
Outdoor Fitness Series: Everyone is welcome to bring their friends for our FREE Outdoor Fitness classes on Saturday mornings in June. All classes start at 9am and feature Yoga (June 16 and 23), and Zumba (June 30). Ages 12+ please; kids 12-15 need a Teen Fit Permit to participate. See Ronnie Frelix with any questions.
New event! The Kroc Center will be participating in the World’s Largest Swim Lesson, held on the first day of summer (Thursday, June 21) starting at 10am. UnitedHealthcare is sponsoring the event, which will teach basic water safety skills to as many people as we can fit in the pool! Pre-registration is free, but required, and is available online at GrKrocCenter.org.
Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from this week:
- “We are getting rave reviews on the recently cleaned pool deck.”
- “Kudos to Nate Ames for confronting two youngsters (male and female) who wanted to use the same family changing room. That is a major Safe From Harm concern.”
- “Kevin [Chilton] in Child Watch was very professional in his interaction with a parent that was late picking up kids. He had to go to the fitness floor and find the parent.”
- “Thanks to game room and rock wall attendants for going the extra mile (hour) for the GVSU trio group.”
