First 5 – Week of August 20, 2018

All-Staff Meeting: Mark your calendar for Wednesday, September 5 (during maintenance week) and our next all-staff meeting. We will start at 4:30pm with everyone together, then at 6:00pm departments will split up and hold their own meetings as needed. Dinner will be served; attendance is required.

Hello & Goodbye: As we have seen a number of Krew members come and go over the past couple of months, we are going to have a small celebration as a group. You are welcome to join us this Monday, August 20 at 12:00pm in the WPAC. Lunch will be provided.

Fine Art Fridays: During the month of August, we are holding Five “Fine Art Fridays.” Each person who brings in a donation of new art supplies will receive 50% off their day pass. The main goal of this promotion is to raise awareness of our campaign for $5 fine arts programs for members in the fall. Please see the display in the lobby for more information.

Speaking of Fine Arts… Please spread the word about our fine arts promotion taking place this fall. It is a big deal to be adding new six-week classes at only $5 each for members, and we would love to see them all fill up! Please see the Fall Program Guide for complete listings.

Reminder Regarding Outside Work: When on the clock, Kroc Krew members should engage in work related to their job. Activities deemed personal in nature, such as reading a magazine, doing homework, watching TV, or surfing the Web are not permitted unless permission has been granted by a supervisor for a work-related purpose.

In the event that there is “nothing to do,” Krew members should check in with their supervisor to see if there are other things that may be done. If the supervisor is unavailable, the Krew member should speak with the Manager on Duty.

As an extension of the Kroc’s radical hospitality, Krew members are always encouraged to engage with members and guests, and, if applicable, invite them to participate in whatever activity the Krew member is supervising (i.e. climbing wall, basketball, drop-in art).

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from this week:

  • “Jacki Wilfong gets the RADICAL HOSPITALITY award for August 14. Guest needed an event rental form. None to be found. Jacki went to work. Found the form on the web site. Printed it off. Had it delivered!”
  • “Nate from Aquatics did an awesome job helping find last-minute coverage for the special event on August 12.”
