First 5 – Week of September 10, 2018

Watch out… it’s “Kroc Tank”! As we announced at last week’s all-staff meeting, we’re holding a competition for all Kroc Krew members to come up with the next big idea in radical hospitality. Anytime between now and September 28, submit an idea to your manager. It can be something simple in your department, or a huge plan for the whole Kroc Center. The managers will discuss all the ideas submitted and vote on the best. The winning entry will get a $100 Amazon gift card, and one (or more) ideas will be implemented at the Kroc. Good luck!

Meetup Monday – New book studies: Meetup Monday is back for another eight-week session September 10. You can come and get dinner for $3 per person between 5-6 PM, then join the Church at the Kroc team as they lead group book discussions from 6-7 PM. The men will be studying I Can Only Imagine by musician Bart Millard, while women will read Gideon by Priscilla Shirer. Feel free to speak with Capts. Bill or Taylor Brutto if you have questions or would like to participate.

Fine Arts Program Registration: Registration for Fall 1 programs ends this Tuesday, September 11. Many of the fine arts programs we have been promoting are full or close to it, but there is plenty of space in…

  • Youth Theater Workshop (Tuesday evenings)
  • Mommy & Me Dance / Worship through Ballet (Wednesday mornings)
  • Parent & Tot Art (Thursday mornings)

Although the early bird date has passed, these classes are still only $10 for members. Please be sure to share this information with your friends!

Les Mills is Coming! The Kroc Center will be launching Les Mills group exercise classes before the end of the year. In preparation, we are hosting instructor trainings for each of the three classes we plan to offer: BodyPump, Sprint, and CXWorx. If you are interested in learning to teach fitness classes, please see Ronnie Frelix.

Toddler Tuesdays Return: Now that the school year has begun, Toddler Tuesday kicks off this week. Each Tuesday morning, one adult can get a free day pass with each paid child day pass ($5.50). As always, the program is free for members. There are special games in the gym, time for swimming, and more. To start things up this week, we’ll have some special fall program previews as well.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from this week:

Sunday, September 2 was a challenging day at the Kroc Center, as the pool had to be shut down due to a contamination. But Major Dan Leisher described how everyone on duty pitched in to help out:

Amy and Ruth (Welcome Desk) had to manage several “disappointed” guests when the pool was closed for maintenance…their kind, apologetic approach helped sooth some disgruntled folks.

Devon and Schwartzen were helpful in pulling up tape (to prepare the gym floor for resurfacing)!  They have gotten most of it up!

Josh (facilities) was on top of many tasks today – compliments from The Pentecostal group!

Koby covered the rock wall well – engaged young people and parents.”
