The Employee Appreciation Taskforce invites you to bring your best batch of chili and your appetite to the fifth annual Kroc Krew Chili Cook Off on Thursday, January 31st from 12–1 PM in Fireside C. We’ll serve the house chili again for the night staff from 6–7 PM.
We’ll have three different categories: Best Traditional Chili, Best Non-Traditional Chili (chicken chili, vegetarian, etc.) and Best Chili Name.
Can’t cook? No problem! We’ll have plenty of chili for everyone, so come and taste the entries! Toppings will be provided.
Please send an email to Julie_Taggart@usc.salvationarmy.org if you plan on submitting a chili. Hope to see you all there!
Kroc Krew, Parlez-vous? In order to provide the best possible customer service to our guests, we want to maintain a list of all the Kroc Krew members who can communicate in another language. Whether it is Spanish, French, American Sign Language, or anything else, please let your supervisor know what skills you have. You never know when it may come in handy!
Winter Programs: Registration for Winter 2 is open… don’t forget that Kroc Center members can take basic swim lessons for as little as $5 per person when signing up before the early bird deadline!
GR Drive Basketball Clinics: If you know a boy or girl ages 7-14 who would like to participate in a free basketball clinic with the Grand Rapids Drive at the Kroc Center, the next dates will be Monday, February 11 and Monday, March 11 from 6-8pm. Registration is open to give Kroc Krew families a head start — the clinics won’t be promoted to the public for another week or two. NOTE: Because space is limited, please do NOT sign up kids who participated in the November clinic.
New Year’s Membership Specials: In addition to our usual $0 registration offer that continues through January, we are adding a brand-new promotion for membership next month! As part of our “Year of You” campaign, all new members can get six months of membership for the price of five when paying in advance. That means half a year of membership for a single adult would be $190, or a full year only $380!
Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from the past week:
- A day pass user complimented Haley Voss on remembering the name of her child after only being here a few times.
-
Fitness attendants Cindy and Cheryl were fantastic handing a large amount of orientations and customer questions! They made a great team and assured everyone was taken care of in a timely manner and with a smile!
-
Dannielle Ashford has been busy giving a lot of tours. I don’t think I ever see her sit down!
-
On a busy Monday night, Melissa Roemer offered to help the welcome desk. She took extra time to walk someone to their class so that the desk staff could continue to assist other customers.
