First 5 – Week of March 11, 2019

Busy Times Ahead! The Kroc Center is going to be very well-used over the next couple of weeks. As a result, there are some times when all staff will need to park in the East (Back) lot. Please watch for more details in the next few days. Thank you for your cooperation as we give our guests the best service possible!

Spring Break Day Camp: From Day Camp Coordinator Jessica Pollins… “We are happy to offer childcare (kids ages 5-12, or 13-17 for teen leaders) for Kroc Center staff at a reduced rate for Spring Break week! The dates of Spring Break Camp are April 1-5 from 9am to 4pm and the staff price for the full week is $85.00. Extended care will be offered for no additional cost and will run from 7:30-9am and 4-6pm.

Please register at the Welcome Desk Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Registration is first-come, first-served, and a spot for your child is not guaranteed. Thank you and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions!”

Spring Programs: The Spring/Summer program guide has just arrived at the Kroc Center! It is also online now and registration is open. Feel free to encourage everyone to sign up today! The early-bird deadline is Tuesday, April 9.

Camp Kroc Early-Bird Deadline: Make sure to remind our members and guests that the early-bird deadline for summer Camp Kroc registration is next Sunday, March 17. After that date, prices for day camp and extended care all increase, so it’s the last chance to lock in 2018 prices! (Discounts do not include specialty camps or Little Pine Island.)

New Spin Bikes are Here! We recently received our new fleet of exercise bikes for our cycling classes. They will allow our instructors to monitor each participant’s output at any point in the class via tablets and a TV screen in the studio. The levels are calibrated to the user’s profile based on age, gender, and weight, so that each person gets a workout that is appropriate for his or her level. Make sure to check them out, and share the awesome news with our members and guests!

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from the past week:

  • “Pete absorbed a ton of kids and got them on the climbing wall during an unplanned pool closure.”
  • “Jay at the fitness desk is a natural when it comes to helping others as he was showing members how to safely use the equipment.”
  • “Dannielle made sure all of our event guests felt welcomed as she directed them where to go with a welcoming greeting and smile.”
  • “Josue and Patrick at the Welcome Desk handled all of the comments from guests about the pool closure like a pro!”
  • “Nicholas was great at encouraging kids on the climbing wall.”
