Kroc Block Party! It’s time to break out the giant slip & slide for the public at our “Kroc Block Party” on Friday, August 16 from 5:30-8:30pm. Promotional information is available on the Events page at GrKrocCenter.org, or you can share the event from our Facebook page.
Walmart School Supply drive: Walmart stores around the country are helping The Salvation Army collect back-to-school supplies with a big event on Saturday, August 3. For the Kroc Center, this means a chance to provide supplies for our youth programming and help our friends at Brookside Elementary. You can help by sharing the online gift registry list or by volunteering for two hours at the Grandville Walmart on the day of the event. Please see Jon Shaner for more information.
Upcoming pool closures: This is Swim Camp week, meaning the pool will be closed to the public from 8:55AM to Noon Monday – Friday. This information is posted in the drop-in rec guide, senior flyer, and signage on the locker room doors.
Maintenance time ahead: Unlike previous years, we will not be closing the entire Kroc Center while we perform cleaning and maintenance. However, be aware that the Aquatics Center will be closed Sept. 3-8; also, the Gymnasium will be closed from August 26–Sept. 15, as we are doing a bigger resurfacing project than normal.
Email address changes: Be aware that all Salvation Army email addresses have been changed! Individuals who had an underscore between their first & last names, i.e. Jon_Shaner@usc.salvationarmy.org, now have a dot between the names: Jon.Shaner@usc.salvationarmy.org. Both addresses will work during a transition period, but we will be changing over things like business cards, printed materials, etc. over the next couple of months. Thanks for your help in notifying your contacts of the switch.

The Welcome Desk (Amy, Crystal and Kiri) were very helpful during day camp check-in. It was a really team effort, and the help from everyone all over the building was appreciated.

Nancy Showers is awesome! She stayed later today to help cover the fitness desk. She is a joy to be around and her energy is contagious.
