Fire Drills this week: The Kroc Center will be running fire drills to further help in our emergency preparedness. These will take place Wednesday, October 23 at 2:00PM AND 6:00PM, and Saturday, October 26 at 12:30PM. Some things to know:
- This will not be a surprise. Our members and guests will be notified upon arrival.
- This will be full participation. Members and guests will be expected to participate.
- We’ve done our best to pick times that would have the least impact on our members and guests as possible. There is no perfect time.
- Once the drill is performed and the all clear is given, it will be back to business as usual.
If you do not know your area’s/department’s fire emergency procedures, make sure to check with your supervisor and review information included in the emergency binders located in each department.
Special Les Mills classes for Kroc Krew: In order to help you complete the Les Mills Challenge, the Fitness Department is offering some special times to make it easier for you to attend… mark this week’s calendar for two classes back-to-back at Noon on Monday. Also, the deadline for staff to complete their punch cards has been extended to November 1. See Cheryl Floyd or Bram Roberts with any questions.
Les Mills Challenge! Our Les Mills Challenge is now open to ALL Kroc Center members! Here’s how it works: Pick up a punch card at the Fitness Desk or Welcome Desk, and then take at least one session of BODYPUMP, CXWORX, Sprint, and a virtual class of your choice. Everyone who completes their punch card will be entered to win gift cards and other prizes! See Cheryl Floyd or Bram Roberts with any questions.
FAME is back! The Kroc will be a bit busier during the daytime starting this week with the return of the FAME (Fine Arts, Music, and Expression) program for 4th- and 5th-grade students from Brookside Elementary. And, we’re adding 3rd-graders this fall to increase our total to 158 students! They’ll be learning about self-expression with clay, the “giants of jazz,” basic ballet, and more. We can’t wait to see what they create!
World Missions Campaign: From Captain Bill… “Each year, every Salvation Army location has the task of raising funds for world missions. I am seeking pledges from our staff of $60 for the year. That comes to $1.15 per week, in which you would be helping individuals in great need. I am especially proud of the mission work The Salvation Army does overseas, including efforts to provide clean water and shelter, and fighting human trafficking. If you are interested in donating, please email me or Melissa Roemer ASAP. If you have any questions, please let me know.”
Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from the past week:
- “Adonys Cardona was a key player today. As well as hosting the Genealogical event in Fireside, he was able to fill in for the birthday party host for a short time and help cover a gap in the game room because the CPR class ran longer than expected. He did it all with a smile!”
- “Thanks to Melissa and Steve Roemer for helping after Praise Team practice with the room set up. We were able to get the WPAC set up for Thursdays event finished faster than anticipated.”
