First 5 – Week of February 3, 2020

Membership promotion: As we head into income tax season, our new membership promotion encourages people to put their refund to good use by prepaying for Kroc Center membership. The offer is 6 for 5: Get one month free when you pay for six months of a new Kroc membership – plus, half off the registration fee.  Or, get TWO months free when you pay upfront for a full year – and we’ll waive the registration fee. This offer is valid February 1 – March 31.

Kroc Fitness Bingo: Monday, February 3 is our first prize drawing for our Kroc Fitness Bingo contest. Grab a Bingo card and complete the listed fitness classes for a chance to win some great prizes. Be sure to talk this up with our members – studies show that group exercise classes are a great way to keep them engaged!

Free event for Kroc Krew members: Grace Christian University is offering a special night for community partners, and all Kroc employees are invited. Here’s the information from GCU…

“On Tuesday, February 11th at 7:00 PM our Men’s Varsity Championship Basketball Team is playing a game on campus. This is our Partnership Night, so employees of partnering organizations are able to attend for free.”

There are gifts and door prizes at the event as well. If you want to attend, RSVP by completing the form at bit.ly/GCU_Kroc.

AYSO Spring Registration: Do you know a child who wants to try soccer for the first time? Dick’s Sporting Goods is partnering with our AYSO Region 1634 to help out. This spring, any kid brand new to soccer will get a certificate for a free soccer ball, shoes, and shinguards at Dick’s. Registration ends March 15 — Please see Bram Roberts if you have any questions.

10th Anniversary Planning: If you are interested in helping to plan some of the events around the Kroc Center’s 10th anniversary coming up this fall, please contact Jon Shaner.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples from the past week:

  • “Brittany Mitchell went above and beyond working with a child in the game room. She was able to de-escalate a behavioral situation while being kind and supportive to the child.”
  • “Steve and Hanna had a busy night and did a great job interacting with kids and families, welcome to the Krew Hanna!”
  • “Our Judo Volunteers are great! Fun Fact: Next week will be the 9-year anniversary of our Judo program. That’s a lot of volunteer hours!”
  • “Kudos to Wynter Gardner for staying after her scheduled shift to help with coverage in the gym.”

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • No outside rentals this week!
