First 5 – Week of February 15, 2021

MORE BASKETBALL: Starting this week, we have added basketball shootaround times to the morning schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-10AM. Just like the existing times, reservations are required, and only one person/household may use each of the four available hoops. See the Drop-In Rec Guide for more information.

SAFETY REFRESHER: This week’s focus area from our Safety team is how to handle a power outage. The Kroc Center does have an emergency generator, but it only runs essential functions. Things like the elevator, water fountains, pool pumps, treadmills, etc. will not be operational if the power is out. Please review the procedures for a power outage in your department’s emergency binder so you can ace the quiz at this week’s daily huddles or your next in-service/training session!

BLACK HISTORY MONTH RESOURCE TABLE: Watch for our own Kevin Chilton to be in the lobby starting this week hosting a table with books and other educational materials for members and staff about Black History. This week’s times are: Wednesday 2/17, 3-5pm and Friday, 2/19, 3-6pm. See the Brutto Bulletin (emailed out on Thursday) for more information.

WELLNESS TABLE FOR EMPLOYEES: Starting this Wednesday (February 17), Captains Bill & Taylor will have a table in the admin conference room with items for our staff to take or borrow. There will be some healthy snacks, books, stress relievers, plants, and mood lights for your work space. Items will be refilled as needed.

CUSTOMER SERVICE KEYS: Key #3 to customer service at the Kroc is efficiency. This means that we strive to be attentive, considerate, and responsive to the needs of our guests. Some ways to live that out daily include:

  • I follow established guidelines in order to fulfill my role and meet the needs of our guests.
  • I perform my role efficiently so guests get the most out of their visits.
  • I use my time and resources wisely.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here is a recent example:

  • From Aquatics Manager Jessica Viau: “I had a guard mix up a shift and not show up on time and an INSURANCE member (who paid $3 for yesterday’s slot) show up for today all at once. Patrice helped get EVA out of the pool and wrapped up. Crystal and Kiri helped figure out what to do with him and helped me get him into the 6pm slot since Joe was not here yet to help me guard (Oswaldo totally thought that he signed up for today and was confused!). Lisa came down to help figure out what to do with a no show insurance member that has paid for lap swim so that they do not get a credit on their account. What a team effort and I hadn’t even asked any of them. They just did it!”

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • No outside events this week
