NEW MASK GUIDELINES RELEASED: Last Friday, the State of Michigan announced changes to its epidemic orders stating that people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no longer need to wear masks in public spaces, either outdoors or indoors. We are still evaluating the rest of the information contained in the latest update and will share more information about any policy changes soon. In the meantime, our current guidelines remain in place, requiring ALL guests to wear face coverings indoors.
OUTDOOR CAMPUS UPDATE: In order to supervise the outdoor campus during times the building is closed, we have contracted with DK Security to be on-site on Saturday afternoons/evenings and Sundays. They will begin working as soon as their employees who are assigned to the Kroc receive the appropriate training.
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH: As part of our ongoing member engagement initiatives, Kevin Chilton is hosting a table with information and resources related to Mental Health Awareness Month each week. You can find him in the lobby on Thursdays from 3-5pm through the end of the month.
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND: As a reminder…. Friday, May 28 is an administrative holiday. Monday, May 31 is the Memorial Day holiday and the Kroc Center will be CLOSED.
REMINDERS OF THE WEEK:
-
SAFETY: Safe From Harm – The Salvation Army takes seriously its commitment to protect children and vulnerable adults by requiring Safe From Harm training for all staff. Kroc Center employees are mandated reporters, meaning we are required by law to report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation. This week, we will share additional reminders about important Safe From Harm topics.
-
CUSTOMER SERVICE: All our customer service keys are important. We’re talking about key #3 this week — Efficiency — focusing on ways to use our time and resources wisely.
DAY CAMP STAFF: Please welcome some of our Camp Kroc staff members who will be starting the onboarding and training process over the coming weeks, including a couple of familiar faces… Heaven Jobe, Andrei Mays, Jared Mills, and Ben Van Allen.
SUMMER VACATION REQUESTS: In order to allow us to plan appropriately with limited staffing, all employees who plan to take a full week off at any point during the summer (June-August) need to submit those requests before Friday, May 28. This requirement does not apply to shorter PTO requests. Thanks for your understanding.
CAMP KROC EMPLOYEE DISCOUNTS: Kids of Kroc Center employees may register for Camp Kroc summer day camps at a special employee rate of $82 per week (discount does not apply to before/after care). Use the coupon code STAFF2021 in the CampDoc registration system to receive this discount. Please see Kayla Welch or Patrice Franks with any camp-specific questions.
CORE VALUE OF THE WEEK: We value quality in everything we do. The Kroc Center strives to offer a broad spectrum of impactful, innovative programs and services.
SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK: “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Matthew 11:28-29 (NLT)
