First 5 – Week of August 2, 2021

UPCOMING MAINTENANCE CLOSURES: As part of our never-ending work to keep the Kroc Center clean, safe, and useful for our members, the Aquatics Center will be closed for maintenance August 23 through September 6. We’ll be performing repairs and upgrades on the pool liner and filtration systems, resurfacing the waterslide, and more. The locker room areas will also be closed during this period as we apply new floor coatings. Plus, we’ll be installing some new cardio equipment on the fitness floor!

FALL 1 PROGRAM REGISTRATION: The listings for Fall 1 programs will be available for people to review starting this week; registration will open for both members and non-members next Monday, August 9. Some popular programs are coming back including more music lessons, youth ballet classes, and more. As a reminder, our Active Families promotion continues through the end of the year — the Fall 1 and Fall 2 sessions will both feature many youth programs that are FREE for those with family memberships.

JOB OPENINGS: As we look forward to being able to offer more programs and services in the next few months, we are ramping up hiring for various positions around the Kroc Center. You can always check out the iCIMS web portal to see a list of available jobs throughout the Central Territory of The Salvation Army. Currently available positions include: Fitness Attendant; Group Exercise Instructors; Soccer Instructor; Operations Administrative Assistant; Senior Programming Assistant.

REMINDERS OF THE WEEK:

  • CUSTOMER SERVICE FOCUS: RELATIONSHIPS – We strive to create productive positive relationships with everyone we encounter. Building positive relationships with essential to our mission and the business of the Kroc Center. How do strong relationships lead to loyal customers in your department?
  • SAFETY: The Kroc Center is a drug, alcohol and tobacco free campus. Use of any of these on our property is strictly prohibited. This week, we will review how we handle people who are violating these guidelines on our campus or may come to us under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • CORE VALUE: We value a Kroc Krew that is committed, caring and engaged. The Kroc Center’s employees and volunteers consistently demonstrate radical hospitality and a desire for continual improvement.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some recent examples:

  • Pool Supervisor Joe Bylsma helped answer questions about infant swim lessons for a prospective member that was taking a tour of the Kroc. The guest was thankful for the information! This is a great example of how we can ALL help to promote membership sales 🙂
