CAMP KROC:  Registration is now open! Check it out online at GrKrocCenter.org. All camp registrations will run through Club Automation (like the rest of our programs). Below are some additional things you should be aware of, as we have already started getting some questions:

  • Summer Day Camp Guide is available at the Welcome Desk and online at GrKrocCenter.org.
  • The Specialty Camps (half-day camps for specific activities) guide is also available, and registration opened April 1.
  • Camp scholarship applications are now available online and at the Welcome Desk. The deadline to apply for a camp scholarship is May 1.
  • Positions are already posted for Day Camp Counselors – see ’employment news’ below for a link.
  • The Kroc Center will once again be hosting a Summer Camp Fair in partnership with the Grand Rapids Kids website on Saturday, April 23.

AYSO BEGINS: This is the first week for our AYSO soccer leagues at the Kroc Center. We have about 125 kids this spring across 18 teams from ages 4-12. Our outdoor campus will be busy on Monday evenings, Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings. Please help welcome these families and provide our usual Green Dot level of customer service!

REMINDERS OF THE WEEK: Here are some of the topics you can expect to be covered at daily morning and afternoon huddle meetings…

    • CUSTOMER SERVICE FOCUS: Key #2 – Relationships
    • EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS: Non-member use of lobby areas / Loitering
    • CORE VALUE: We value authentic relationships. The Kroc Center pursues personal connections that promote holistic wellness in an environment of security and significance.
    • KROC HAIKU: Haiku falls in woods / Does anybody read it? / RJ hears crickets

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Welcome Desk Lead; Group Exercise Instructor; Aquatics Lead; Lifeguard; Day Camp Counselor; Human Resources Generalist.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples observed recently:

  • A member brought in her grandkids to enjoy Spring Break activities and mentioned that the kids normally aren’t very active. She was happy to see that Brent was able to keep them engaged and active with basketball and games in the gym.
  • Vicky, Lesley, Jon, and Paul assisted a member who was injured in the pool.
  •  Amber and Bri on the fitness floor provided unscheduled Teen Fit Permit classes to new teen members so they could use the fitness floor and not have to wait until next week to take the class.

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • Area Agency on Aging – Friday 4/15, 8am-12pm, WPAC

Be sure to wish a Happy Birthday to our Kroc Krew colleagues:

  • Kristy Rencher – Fitness Instructor: 4/16
