First 5 – Week of July 4, 2022

AQUATICS CHANGES:
Starting next Tuesday, July 5, we’re making it easier for families to enjoy our Kroc Aquatics Center by:

  • Adding Family Swim and Modified Open Swim (a quieter family swim time without the water slide or play features turned on) on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons, so that there is some form of swimming available for families each weekday through the rest of the summer.
  • Removing registration requirements for Family Swim and Modified Open Swim – members no longer need to reserve a spot for these activities in advance.

Schedules for Family Swim and Modified Open Swim are posted in the updated Drop-In Recreation Guide. Check it out at the Welcome Desk or online here.  Please note that Lap Swim and River Walking will still require reservations at this time, as well as a $3 per visit charge for users with insurance-paid memberships.

NEW STAFF TRAININGS: There will be a Kroc 101 and Customer Service training on Tuesday, July 5 starting at 4:00pm in the Admin Conference Room. If you are expected to participate, you should have received a notification from your supervisor – but if you are unsure, please ask!

UPCOMING PHOTO SHOOT: Lerma Group, the national marketing & PR agency for The Salvation Army, will be at the Kroc next Wednesday, July 13th for a photo shoot. The photos they take will be used in Kroc advertising during the next year. Please send Jon an email if you know any members (or staff) who would like to be featured in these photos. Make sure to wear your nicest Kroc uniforms this day!

NEXT BACKYARD BBQ: Don’t forget that our next Backyard BBQ is Thursday, July 14th.  All Backyard BBQs will take place from 12-1pm under the fitness floor balcony. We’ll be sure to save some food for the evening staff as well! Thanks to our friends on the EAT Committee for organizing these summer events.

KROC BLOCK PARTY: Mark your calendar for our Kroc Block Party on Friday evening, August 19! We’ll have our giant slip & slide open, lots of games for families on our outdoor campus, and opportunities for guests to connect with our local community partners. Help us spread the word by sharing our Facebook event.

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Group Exercise Instructor; Fitness Attendant; Personal Trainer; Music Instructor; Drama Instructor; Human Resources Generalist.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples observed recently:

  • New(-ish) pool supervisor Ben Tuit showing great leadership skills at a recent aquatics in-service
  • Welcome Desk team for providing great customer service to the new Restoring Health contingent
  • Victoria Stedman for covering the fitness floor in an emergency
  • All staff for executing a smooth fire safety drill last week
  • The numerous Kroc Krew members who assisted with a day camp incident
  • Melissa Roemer for stepping in to help with day camp
