First 5 – Week of August 8, 2022

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS CHANGES: You may have seen in your ADP account that there have been some changes to human resources policies associated with the creation of The Salvation Army’s new Great Lakes Division. We are still in communication with divisional headquarters to clarify how some of these changes will impact Kroc Center employees, and will send out more information as it becomes available.

KROC BLOCK PARTY: The Kroc Block Party is coming up soon! On Friday, August 19 from 5:30-8:30pm we’ll have our giant slip & slide open, lots of games for families on our outdoor campus, and opportunities for guests to connect with our local community partners. Help us spread the word by sharing our Facebook event.

FALL PROGRAMS: Registration for the Fall 1 program session is now open at the Welcome Desk and online at GrKrocCenter.org. Be sure to check out all the great programs we are offering!

AYSO REGISTRATION: Registration will close soon for the fall season of AYSO soccer. If you know anyone interested in playing, make sure they visit AYSO1634.org by August 14 to make sure they get a spot!

BACKYARD BBQ:  The last Backyard BBQ of the summer will be Thursday, August 18th from 12-1pm. Thanks to our friends on the EAT Committee for organizing these summer events.

  • Paul Wood for handling an emergency situation with the pool air handling unit at opening time without having to close the Aquatics Center to members.
  • Double Dot! Both Al(y)(li)sons, Rodriguez and Dyke, demonstrated exceptional patience in dealing with a confused program participant.
  • Welcome Desk Lead Damon Lemons received compliments for calmly multitasking with in-person guests and ringing phones demanding attention.
  • A Camp Kroc parent looking for information on our website commented, “My kids enjoyed camp this summer. I’m glad I found this program, especially for my older child.”

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • FitKids On the Move: Tuesday/Wednesday, 6-8pm, WPAC
