First 5 – Week of January 23, 2023

GARDEN PLOTS: We’re getting things set up for the community garden plot rentals for the summer, as we have already received a couple of inquiries. Of course, we would always prefer to have them used in ways that benefit the Kroc Center rather than just renting them out, so if you have a program or department that wants to use a plot this summer, please let Jon Shaner know by next Friday, January 27. Because of the limited number of plots available, please don’t claim one unless you are able to follow through on maintaining it throughout the growing season. We will start opening up plots to rent in February!

FIRST AID KITS: If you have an incident and use a significant amount of bandages or other items, or notice that supplies are getting low in any of our first aid kits, please notify the facilities supervisor so it can be inventoried and replaced as needed.

PERSONAL TIME: If you haven’t noticed already, your personal time bank in ADP may look higher than usual. Per our new merged division (GLD) all PTO eligible employees now receive (2) personal days and (2) floating holidays to use within the calendar year. These additional (2) days are to be taken the same as a regular personal day. Please see Melissa Roemer if you think your amounts are incorrect or if you have further questions.

$0 REGISTRATION PROMOTION: Time is running out to take advantage of our $0 registration window! New members can sign up without the $25 fee through January 31. Make sure your friends and family know to stop in soon!

2023 HOLIDAYS: Below is a list of holidays the Kroc Center will be observing for the remainder of 2023. Please note that some holidays are administrative holidays and the facility will remain open.

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Welcome Desk Lead; Pool Supervisor; Group Exercise Instructor; Fitness Attendant; Personal Trainer;  Swim Instructor; Lifeguard.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples observed recently:

  • In her first time filling in as the instructor for “Walk This Way,” Keely Newbeck gracefully handled a last-minute change to the class location and made sure all the members got to the right place and were able to participate.
  • While ordering food at a local restaurant, an employee saw RJ’s Kroc Center shirt and asked, “Are you one of the pastors from the church who was praying with people at the Christmas event?” She was referring to a part of the toy distribution for families where officers (including Lt. Jack) offered to pray with people… a good reminder that we never know what part of our ministry or activities will resonate with people, and in many cases, demonstrating we care about them is more impactful than the physical ways we serve them!
