First 5 – Week of February 20, 2023

NEW REC & PROGRAM GUIDES:  The new rec guide is available at the Welcome Desk and online here. The aquatics schedule now includes icons to help members and guests understand what is open (lazy river, water slide, hot tub, etc.). Please make sure you’re familiar with this new format. Also, the spring program guide is now available at the Welcome Desk and online here. Registration will open on Monday, March 6. The spring session will begin on Monday, April 17.

PRESIDENTS DAY: As a reminder, Presidents Day is not a paid holiday for Kroc Center employees. If it is showing up as such in your ADP account, it is an error on the part of our divisional headquarters and will be corrected by your supervisor or Kroc HR. Please see Melissa Roemer with any questions.

FAME RETURNS: We are excited to have students from Brookside Elementary back in the building for our FAME program (Fine Arts, Music, and Expression). 3rd and 4th graders will be here from 12:45-2:45pm on Tuesdays to rotate through rhythm, ballet, and art activities. They will be using the WPAC, Fireside C, and the Art Room. Be sure to welcome them back to the Kroc!

CHILI/SOUP COOK OFF: Be sure to sign up in breakrooms/offices around the building to bring your favorite chili or soup to share on Thursday at 12pm in Fireside Hall. The winner as voted on by employees will get the traveling trophy to display for the next year.

AYSO: Registration is now open for the spring season on AYSO. Registration is open until March 14 and is available online at ayso1634.org. We’re also looking for volunteer coaches and referees. Please see Jon Shaner if you’re interested in volunteering this spring.

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Accounting Specialist; Group Exercise Instructor; Personal Trainer; Swim Instructor; Lifeguard; Day Camp Counselor; Fitness Lead (part-time)

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples observed recently:

  • Thursday morning U-Prep coverage when everyone was scrambling, especially Rachel Olexa and Nancy Keeth for jumping in to lead student groups
  • Lily Mattson, Alondra Sanchez & Rozlynn George at the Welcome Desk were proactive in figuring out coverage for their team when others were out unexpectedly
  • Our teams who were away at various trainings in Green Bay (older adults) and Chicago (AYSO soccer) last week
  • The Kroc set post-COVID daily attendance records four of the six days last week!
  • Brent Wilcoxson and all the other staff who led the Kroc through its annual territorial audit last week

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • FitKids 360: Wednesday, 5–8pm, WPAC, Music Room
  • UPrep Enrichment Classes: Tuesday/Thursday, 8:45–10:15am; Gym, Fireside, Art Room, Classroom C/D, Green Room, Kitchen
  • FAME: Tuesday, 12:30–3pm; WPAC, Fireside C, Art Room

Be sure to wish a Happy Birthday to our Kroc Krew colleagues:

  • Aislinn Rosas-Martinez, Aquatics: 2/23
  • Jody Bacinski, Child Watch: 2/28
