First 5 – Week of April 24, 2023

NEW PROGRAM GUIDE: The Summer 1 program guide is now available at the Welcome Desk and online here. Registration will open on Monday, May 1. The Summer 1 session will begin on Monday, June 5.

FITNESS DESK HELP: The fitness department needs help staffing the fitness desk every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:45-10:15am. Those shifts are now available in Sling if you’re able to help out. Please see Margarita with any questions.

CAMP KROC UPDATE: Due to a liability concern related to our state licensing, we are being forced to cancel our Camp Kroc Junior Counselor program for the upcoming summer. Information has been removed from Club Automation and the website, and a new version of the printed camp guide will be printed. Communication and refunds for the handful of families that had already registered will go out soon. Please refer any questions to Chris Handzel or Luke Bronkema.

KROC-STRUCTION: The long-awaited building renovations at the Kroc Center have officially started! The second-floor restrooms are unavailable as we upgrade them into full locker room! Please direct guests to any of the first-floor restrooms, including those on the north side of the lobby or the locker rooms in the main hallway.

EXPUNGEMENT FAIR: We have gotten a number of calls about an event the City of Grand Rapids is holding here on Saturday, May 13. The event is looking to help residents clear eligible criminal convictions from their records with an upcoming expungement fair. The expungement fair will be held from 9am-4pm in Fireside. If you’d like read more about it, the MLive article can be found here.  Please inform anyone calling about the event that it is NOT being run by the Kroc Center, but by the City of Grand Rapids – anyone looking for information should go to the City’s website and look for the “Clean Slate” event, or call the city office at 616.456.4672.
