First 5 – Week of June 5, 2023

CAMP KROC STAFFING UPDATE: Alyson Rodriguez has quickly jumped in to handle all big-picture planning as we continue to prepare for staff training and the start of camp. We will also be posting a full-time seasonal position for someone to manage the day-to-day camp operations and appreciate your help in referring qualified candidates to fill the position as soon as possible. Please refer any questions/emails regarding Camp Kroc to Alyson.

NEW PROGRAM & REC GUIDE: The Summer 1 program session begins this week. The new Drop-In Recreation Guide for the Summer 1 session, plus the Program Guide for Summer 2, are now available at the Welcome Desk and online. This schedule runs June 5–July 22.  The biggest changes are to the pool schedule – we are bringing back our Friday & Saturday open swim times, lunchtime lap swim, AND adding open swim times on some weekday afternoons while our Camp Kroc kids are also in the pool.

WE’RE IN THE CLOUD: If you typically work with files from the “I Drive,” all that content is in the process of transitioning from the physical server at the Kroc to Microsoft’s cloud file service, Sharepoint. If you have a Salvation Army email account, you can access the new location here: https://sausc.sharepoint.com/sites/GLDGRKroc Note that any shortcuts to files on the I Drive will no longer work once the transition is complete, and edits you make to files during the process may need to be resaved to Sharepoint.

EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: In order to address staffing needs across the Kroc Center, we’re implementing a new referral program! Active employees in good standing can now refer someone to apply for a position at the Kroc and receive a $200 bonus. Details on the program and how to complete a referral in ADP can be found here: https://grkroccenter.tv/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Employee-referral-flyer.pdf Please see Melissa Roemer with any questions.

KROC-STRUCTION: Progress continues on our renovations to upgrade second-floor restrooms to full locker rooms. Additionally, the lobby construction will close the main entrance this week. Members and guests will not enter and exit through the Narthex doors.

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Aquatics Lead; Facilities Maintenance; Group Exercise Instructor; Building Supervisor; Lifeguard; Day Camp Counselor; Fitness Lead (part-time); Fitness Lead (Full-time); Gym Attendant; Child Watch Attendant; Welcome Desk Attendant; Personal Trainer

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples observed recently:

  • The 3rd and 4th grade teachers from GR Christian were very happy after their recent facility rental: “Thank you for the wonderful afternoon for our students from GRCES. We had such a great time. Your staff outdid themselves with hospitality and keeping us all safe while we swam and played in the pool. Wow! Your facility is amazing. We look forward to coming again next year.”

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • No rentals this week!

Be sure to wish a Happy Birthday to our Kroc Krew colleagues:
