First 5 – Week of September 25, 2023

ALL STAFF MEETING: We are planning for our first All-Staff Meeting in more than two years! The date is set for Sunday, October 22 from 5-6pm. The meeting will be followed by a complimentary dinner and time to socialize. This meeting is considered mandatory for all employees, regardless of status or schedules, and everyone attending will be paid for the length of the meeting. If you are unable to attend, you must contact your supervisor to be excused. Please see Major Carol, Luke Bronkema, or Melissa Roemer with any questions.

AQUATICS SCHEDULES: As we continue to work through staffing challenges, the aquatics schedule is still being updated on a week-by-week basis. Please make note that this week’s schedule is different than the previous one, and we will continue working to open up more swim times as the Fall 1 session progresses.

FALL 2 PROGRAM GUIDES: Check out the new Fall 2 program guide which is now available in the building and online. Please note that registration for these programs will open on Monday, October 2.

MONSTER MASH: It’s almost time for Monster Mash! Our annual Halloween trunk-or-treat event will take place on Saturday, October 27 from 5-7pm in the East parking lot. If you have a connection with an organization that would like to come and hand out candy or other goodies at the event, you are welcome to send them to this form to sign up.

KROC LEADERSHIP SUMMIT: A group of Kroc Center officers, directors, and support staff from around the Central Territory will be in the building this week Tuesday through Thursday. Most of their meetings will be in the Fireside Hall, but they will also have member-level access to all recreational areas, etc. Please be sure to bring your customer-service “A-game” for this set of VIPs!

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Lifeguard; Aquatics Manager; Child Watch Attendant; Welcome Desk Attendant; Fitness Attendant.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here are some examples observed recently:

  • Destiny at the Welcome Desk for sharing origami animals with members, it was a simple and fun way to engage with people Monday morning!
  • Lisa and Joselyn putting together treats and coffee for members on short notice.
  • Jessica Viau shares thanks for everyone who helped to cover the program team while she was out.

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • UPrep Enrichment Classes: Tuesday/Thursday, 9–10:15am; Outdoor Fields
  • FitKids360: Wednesday, 5-8pm; WPAC & Music Room
  • Kroc Leadership Summit: Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday (all day); Fireside Hall & Various other spaces

Each week, members of the Kroc Center and Kroc Church submit a number of requests for prayer. We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9am (currently in the Music Room); if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.

  • A member of the church requests prayers for people in her life who are struggling with health issues.

Be sure to wish a Happy Birthday to our Kroc Krew colleagues:

  • Victoria Stedman: 9/26
  • Kiara Bannister:  9/27
  • Jessica Viau: 9/27
  • Paul Wood: 9/28
