First 5 – Week of March 25, 2024

#YOURKROCSTORY CONTEST WINNERS: Thanks to those members and staff who took part in our #YourKrocStory video contest. We’re currently going through all of the entries and will be sharing more information soon!

KROC CHURCH HOLY WEEK: Join the Kroc Church team for several special Holy Week activities… On Thursday, March 28, there will be a HimSing worship time with our older adult group during Kroc Discoveries at 1pm; a Tenebrae service for deep personal reflection on Friday, March 29 at 6:30pm; and Easter Sunday morning (March 31), there is a SONrise breakfast at 9am, followed by the regular worship service at 10am.

HOLY WEEK SCHEDULES: As a reminder, Good Friday (March 29) is an administrative holiday, but the Kroc Center will be open. The Kroc is CLOSED on Easter Sunday (March 31), but be sure to join Kroc Church for special worship and festivities to celebrate our risen Savior!

SPRING BREAK NEXT WEEK: It is crunch time for Spring Break — please make sure you are checking schedules, Sling shifts, etc. When you talk to guests who have questions, please strongly encourage them to sign up online for open swim times in advance. Each session opens for non-members 7 days in advance. See the Spring Break guide for more information.

U.S. 131 CONSTRUCTION: Starting April 1, U.S. 131 will be completely closed at times, starting with northbound lanes, between 28th Street and downtown Grand Rapids. This will result in significantly higher traffic levels on Division Avenue, which is the ‘business route’ and will likely be one of the main detours for drivers. We will be reminding members about this situation, please keep it in mind as you are coming to/from the Kroc (leave yourself extra time if needed), and be patient with guests who may be frustrated about the traffic.

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Day Camp Lead; Child Watch Attendant; Welcome Desk Attendant; Summer Day Camp Counselor (full-time); Summer Day Camp Counselor (part-time); Building Supervisor; Lifeguard; Youth Ministry and Mission Specialist.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests!

  • Pete handled a difficult situation very professionally during men’s basketball league on Sunday evening

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • Birthday Party: Friday, 4-8pm, Fireside A/B
  • After-Hours Activity: Friday, 8pm-Midnight; Gymnasium, Fireside Hall

Each week, members of the Kroc Center and Kroc Church submit a number of requests for prayer. We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9am in the Green Room; if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.
