First 5 – Week of July 15, 2024

DOUBLE DOG DAYS: Our ongoing summer day pass promotion is called “Double Dog Days” (a reference to the ‘dog days’ of summer… we aren’t allowing dogs in the building!) Guests who purchase a day pass during the month of July will receive a coupon for a free pass of the same type (adult/child) to come back during the month of August. Our goal is to boost day pass sales and building utilization during a typically slower time of year. Please see Lisa Van Dyk or Jon Shaner with any questions.

PROGRAM SESSION REMINDERS: Wednesday, July 17 is the final day to register for Summer 2 session programs. The new recreation schedule will be published later this week and goes into effect Sunday, July 21. The Fall 1 program guide will be out next week, with registration opening on Monday, August 5.

BACKYARD BBQ: The EAT Committee’s second Backyard BBQ of the summer will be offered to employees this Thursday, July 18. Food will be available under the fitness balcony (weather permitting) starting at noon, with leftovers available for the evening crew later in the day. Hope you can join us!

TSA WOMEN’S AUXILIARY FUNDRAISER: This Tuesday, July 16 from 5-8pm, 10% of all orders at the Culver’s restaurant on 28th Street in Cascade will go to support The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. In case you’re not familiar, the Women’s Auxiliary helps to provide volunteers and resources for Salvation Army programming. In the past, they have had volunteers help with our Spring Break activities, and provided swimsuits and other materials for our GRPS swim lessons. So, please consider stopping out to support this fundraiser if you are in the neighborhood!

KROC BLOCK PARTY: Our annual end-of-summer event is only a month away! On Friday, August 16th from 5:30-8:30pm, we’ll have the giant slip & slide open to the public, plus demo fitness classes, community resource tables, and more. Please make sure to invite all your family and friends!

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Building Supervisor, Lifeguard, Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests!

  • The Welcome Desk staff all stepped up to cover an extended period of time without their lead, Alondra.
  • Despite being relatively new, Adriana at the Welcome Desk calmly handled a Code 9 situation in the lobby on Friday.
  • Lesley Greene walked a guest out to their car because they had forgotten their walker when coming into the pool.
  • Aaran Bush and Jordan Williams covered shifts at the last minute after a coworker had a broken arm.
  • Paul and Albert went WAY above and beyond (and into and under) by tracking down the missing remote control for our pool water features… in the dumpster!

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center:

  • Lobos Soccer: Saturday & Sunday, Outdoor Fields
  • AYSO Training: Saturday, 8am-4pm, Fireside Hall, Outdoor Fields

Each week, members of the Kroc Center and Kroc Church submit a number of requests for prayer. We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9am in the Green Room; if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.

  •

Be sure to wish a Happy Birthday to our Kroc Krew colleagues:

  • Thomas Buffham – July 13
  • Jacob Fontaine – July 15
  • Lydia Hoekwater – July 20
  • Pete Bentancourt – July 22
