I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory. Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed! Truth springs up from the earth, and righteousness smiles down from heaven. Yes, the Lord pours down his blessings. Our land will yield its bountiful harvest. Righteousness goes as a herald before him, preparing the way for his steps.- Psalm 85:8-13 (NLT)
Finding Peace in God’s Word is, I believe, a journey that all believers take in their walk of faith. God tells us very clearly that His Peace transcends anything that we could ever, ask , think, or imagine. However, when we earnestly seek the face of God and place our trust in Him, He Gives us His Peace.
He says that He gives not as the world gives, but only as He can. It is so easy for us in today’s world to look for peace in so many other places that will only bring us temporary comfort and is never the true peace that we so desperately seek. The real problem is that often we ourselves, are the very cause of our own unrest in our lives.
When we stop trying to create our own peace in our lives and we stop looking to world for the peace we long for, and instead trust that we can find that Peace in God’s Word, it is then that we will find what we were so desperately longing for in our lives all along. Peace.
