Payroll Week Reminder: Did you approve/submit your timecard?

DECEMBER MEMBERSHIP PROMOTIONS: As is typically the case during the month of December, we have launched our $0 Registration Fee promotion for all new memberships in advance of the New Year’s rush. Additionally, we are selling day pass certificates ‘buy one, get one free’ as gift ideas through December 24. See the membership or marketing teams for more information.

ANGEL TREE TOY DRIVE: Once again this year, we are a participating site for The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree toy drive. Members, guests, and employees can select a card with the age/gender of a child on it from the Christmas tree in the main lobby. Then, you purchase a toy (or gift card for teens) and drop it back off at the Kroc Center. Please help us in spreading joy this Christmas season!

HOLIDAY HOURS: We have made a slight change to Kroc facility hours for both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. We will still open at 5:30am on both of those days, but the building will close at 1:00pm to avoid having to bring in afternoon staff. As a reminder, the Kroc is fully closed on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

CHRISTMAS HIMSING: On Thursday, December 19 at 1pm, join us in the Worship & Performing Arts Center for a fun time of carols and fellowship with Kroc Church and the Older Adult Programming team. Employees are welcomed to attend!

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: As we get into the winter months, here is a reminder of our employee handbook’s policy regarding weather-related cancellations and closings: Building Closures “When there is a need to close the building for any reason, or a need for a delayed start time, employees will be notified by the specified method for each location. Employees who can work remotely will be expected to do so on those days; employees who are unable to work remotely will be paid for their regular time on those days. Check with your supervisor to clarify the expectations for your position. If the office is open and is forced to close early for unusual reasons (e.g. inclement weather, building issues), all employees who reported for work will be paid for the full scheduled shift. If the location is not closed and inclement weather prohibits an employee from reporting to work, the employee must notify their supervisor, and the employee will be required to use available personal, discretionary, or vacation time. If no such time is available, the day will be unpaid.”

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Lifeguard.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests!
- Lily Mattson handled a busy Friday shift on her own at the Welcome Desk due to a last-minute illness.
- The Facilities team preparing the building for Christmas decorating while also clearing snow outside.
- All the staff members who helped with the Turkey Burn-Off fitness event.
- Capt. Jack & Albert Montiel going out of their way to assist a Kroc Church family needing a great deal of help with their housing situation.
- Adriana VanderVelde did a great job helping teach a member how to access her account to register for classes on her phone.

Each week, members of the Kroc Center and Kroc Church submit a number of requests for prayer. We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9am in the Administration Foyer; if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.
- Health and protection for all Kroc Krew and family during this transition of seasons.

Each week, we feature a “Note from the Pastor” and Bible verse from Captain Jack Huffman and the Kroc Church team. If you ever want to hear more about these topics, join us for Kroc Church Sunday mornings at 10am.
As we continue in this season of Advent, we are reminded of the miraculous story in Luke 1:26-38, where Mary receives the news that she will bear the Son of God. In this passage, we see how God prepares ordinary people for extraordinary miracles. Mary’s humble response, “I am the Lord’s servant. May your word to me be fulfilled,” reminds us of the power of surrender when God invites us into His divine plan.
God often works His miracles through ordinary moments of obedience. Mary wasn’t chosen for her status or accomplishments but for her willingness to trust God’s word. Like Mary, we may not feel ready or qualified for what God is calling us to, but His plans are always bigger than our own. Are we preparing our hearts to say “yes” to His purpose, even when it stretches our faith?
This week let’s reflect on how we can make room for the miracles God wants to bring to fruition in our lives. Through prayer, trust, and surrender, we ready ourselves to experience the fullness of His promises. As we anticipate the celebration of Christ’s birth, let’s prepare our hearts with expectation and faith, knowing that nothing is impossible with God.
