JANUARY MEMBERSHIP PROMOTION: Our $0 Registration Fee promotion for all new memberships continues for the New Year’s resolution season. See the membership or marketing teams for more information.

MLK JR. DAY REMINDER: The Kroc Center is OPEN with regular hours on Monday, January 20, but it is an administrative holiday.

DROP-IN YOUTH FUTSAL: This drop-in activity, which was a huge hit with families last winter, is back on the Winter 1 schedule on Tuesday evenings from 5-7pm. Hosted by the Kroc Center’s AYSO Region 1634, indoor futsal is designed to keep youth soccer players having fun and developing skills during the winter months. Pick–up style play will be supervised by Kroc staff and/or certified AYSO volunteer coaches. Families DO need to register for this activity, as capacity is limited.

LES MILLS VIRTUAL ADDITIONS: We are launching a number of NEW Les Mills Virtual drop–in fitness classes for the new year! These classes are FREE with any paid membership and are easy to participate in. Check the group exercise schedule to find times for BODYATTACK, LES MILLS DANCE, RPM, THE TRIP, and BORN TO MOVE. BORN TO MOVE is especially exciting to add, as it is designed for kids as young as 7 years old (with a supervising adult). We’ll be offering two levels of BORN TO MOVE for different age groups listed as ‘Beginner’ (recommended for ages 7-8) and ‘Intermediate’ (9-12).

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: As the snow falls today, here is a reminder of our employee handbook’s policy regarding weather-related cancellations and closings: Building Closures “When there is a need to close the building for any reason, or a need for a delayed start time, employees will be notified by the specified method for each location. Employees who can work remotely will be expected to do so on those days; employees who are unable to work remotely will be paid for their regular time on those days. Check with your supervisor to clarify the expectations for your position. If the office is open and is forced to close early for unusual reasons (e.g. inclement weather, building issues), all employees who reported for work will be paid for the full scheduled shift. If the location is not closed and inclement weather prohibits an employee from reporting to work, the employee must notify their supervisor, and the employee will be required to use available personal, discretionary, or vacation time. If no such time is available, the day will be unpaid.

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Current openings include: Lifeguard and Fitness Attendant. Looking forward, Day Camp positions will be live on Friday.

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests!

Each week, members of the Kroc Center and Kroc Church submit a number of requests for prayer. We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9am in the Administration Foyer; if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.

John 14:15-21 – Understanding the Holy Spirit
Understanding the Holy Spirit can be a complicated topic for many people. Human beings are subject to make spiritual matters overly complicated because they tend to by nature, try to understand spiritual matters with a worldly mind. When we try to understand the power and the depth of the Holy Spirit in our lives from a worldly viewpoint we easily undervalue and minimize who the Holy Spirit really is to the believer.
Understanding the who the Holy Spirit starts with having a relationship with Him. John clearly states 2 facts, 1. “The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees Him not knows Him. 2. “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father and you are in me, and I am in you.”
If you truly want to understand the Spirit, you must have a relationship with Jesus. To have a relationship with Jesus is to surrender your life fully to Him. When you surrender your life to Christ the Holy Spirit comes into your heart and you know have the power and the ability to understand who the Holy Spirit truly is and the impact that He can have on your life. Are you ready to surrender today?
