INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: After a traumatizingly cold and snowy week, here is a reminder of our employee handbook’s policy regarding weather-related cancellations and closings.
Building Closures “When there is a need to close the building for any reason, or a need for a delayed start time, employees will be notified by the specified method for each location. Employees who can work remotely will be expected to do so on those days; employees who are unable to work remotely will be paid for their regular time on those days. Check with your supervisor to clarify the expectations for your position. If the office is open and is forced to close early for unusual reasons (e.g. inclement weather, building issues), all employees who reported for work will be paid for the full scheduled shift. If the location is not closed and inclement weather prohibits an employee from reporting to work, the employee must notify their supervisor, and the employee will be required to use available personal, discretionary, or vacation time. If no such time is available, the day will be unpaid.

FAME FUNDRAISER: Starting Monday, January 27th.
What We’re Doing: We’re collecting $1 and $5 donations to support our FAME program, with donor names displayed on our community “Refrigerator.”
Quick Facts to Share with Members: • FAME stands for Fine Arts, Music, and Expression • Partners with Brookside Elementary (walking distance to Kroc) • Serves 20-30 students per class • Provides FREE professional arts instruction including: Visual arts (painting, ceramics, printmaking), Ballet with Grand Rapids Ballet Company, Drumming classes
When in doubt, ask marketing or membership any questions you might have.

“Please Use Lockers” Signage: Starting soon, you will see some new signage up around the gym regarding the use of lockers to store personal items (bags, coats, shoes, etc.). We want to encourage you to remind guests to store their items in the lockers whenever possible. This keeps our facility looking cleaner, reduces theft, and ultimately creates a safer space. The more guests make this a habit, the easier it will get in the long run. Thank you for your help!

JANUARY MEMBERSHIP PROMOTION: Final week of our $0 Registration Fee promotion for all new memberships. See the membership or marketing teams for more information.

OPEN POSITIONS: Visit the Central Territory’s ADP Recruitment system for all job postings and to submit applications online. We appreciate you sharing opportunities with friends and family! Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests!

Conquering Sin With Christ – Romans 6:8-14
As human beings, sin is a daily part of our lives. Sin is a battle that every person on the planet must work towards overcoming or succumbing to. Sin is a result of being born into this world and living with the consequences that come from Satan tricking Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The Salvation Army’s 5th Doctrine states “We Believe that our first parents were created in a state of innocency, but by their disobedience, they lost their purity and happiness, and that in consequence of their fall, all men have become sinners, totally depraved, and as such are justly exposed to the wrath of God.
We find great Hope in the scriptures written by the Disciple Paul in Romans 6:8-14. Paul reminds us that although we may have sin in our lives, we are not bound to it in a life with Christ. Paul assures us that when we make the decision to live a life in Christ, we can make the choice to offer ourselves to a life of righteousness instead of allowing sin to reign in our mortal bodies.
Today is the day to recognize that you do not have to face God’s wrath and continue to live a depraved life in this world. Paul reminds us that we can live a life instead that is under the grace of God. Grace, to the believer, means that God treats us with unmerited favor. By choosing to offer yourself to Christ today you can enjoy God’s grace and work towards overcoming your sin. Praise God that instead of giving us what we deserve for our sin, He made a way though Christ to conquer and forgive us of our sin. Will you accept His gift today?
