GRPS SWIM LESSONS: The last full week of GRPS swim lessons was last week. Lessons will take place Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week. Also just another reminder that the pool, hot tub, and other aquatic facilities will be closing at noon due to Grand Rapids Public School swim lessons. These changes will run through June 7th. The pool will resume its regular schedule at 4 PM each day. To ensure a smooth transition for the students and to minimize congestion, we kindly ask that members who typically visit between 11:00 AM and 11:55 AM use the men’s and women’s locker rooms as much as possible. This will help avoid overcrowding in the family locker room cabanas, which will close at 11:30 AM.

NEW HR GENERALIST: Be sure to give a warm welcome to our new HR Generalist, Mckenna Maciag! Each week, members of the Kroc Center and Kroc Church submit a number of requests for prayer. We welcome these from everyone in our community, and encourage all our Kroc Krew to lift up these requests in your own way. Don’t forget that you are always welcome to attend devotions on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 am in the Administration Foyer; if you have a prayer request to share, you can post it on the board in the lobby, use the online form, or contact a member of the Kroc Church team.
- Prayers for safety during the GRPS swimming lessons
- Prayers for aging parents for many throughout the Kroc Center.

Each week, we feature a “Note from the Pastor” and Bible verse from Captain Jack Huffman and the Kroc Church team. If you ever want to hear more about these topics, join us for Kroc Church Sunday mornings at 10am.
1 Peter 5:6-11 – Standing Firm in the Faith
In 1 Peter 5:6–11, Peter calls us to humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand, casting our anxieties upon Him because He cares for us. He warns of the devil’s prowling, urging vigilance and steadfastness in our faith. Through these verses, we see a picture of believers supported by God’s grace, refined by trials, and ultimately standing strong in Christ until His glory is revealed.
This passage reminds us that true humility isn’t self-deprecation but trust in God’s sovereign care. Our sufferings are neither accidental nor meaningless; they serve to strengthen our faith and deepen our reliance on Christ. Peter assures us that God’s discipline is purposeful—He restores, establishes, and strengthens us. In this way, humility and endurance become twin virtues that guard our hearts against pride and despair.
As we go into the week, let us practice casting our cares upon the Lord in prayer and Scripture, resisting the enemy’s schemes through sober-minded watchfulness, and supporting one another in prayerful encouragement. I invite you to join a small group or prayer partner this week to share burdens and stand firm together in faith, confident that the God of all grace will sustain you.
