🙌 Missional Moment
A Salvation Army Story: Mercy Makes Room
In the early Salvation Army movement, many new converts were people with painful pasts—former thieves, abusers, and broken family members. In some corps, it wasn’t uncommon for people to find themselves worshiping alongside those who had once harmed them.
Officers were known to say that the Army could only move forward if mercy was practiced as freely as grace was preached. When forgiveness was extended—sometimes haltingly, sometimes painfully—relationships that should have suffocated instead found new life. The community didn’t pretend the past didn’t matter; they chose not to let it rule the future.
That’s Salvation Army mercy: forgiveness doesn’t erase the past—it creates space for renewal.
✝️ Note from the Pastor
It’s Time To Make A Choice
God is a God of love; there is no doubt about that, but God is also a God who calls us to be decisive in our relationship with Him. We see this reflected in Revelation 3:16: “So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” You cannot serve both God and the world—you must make a choice. God is a holy God, and He wants all of you.
We see this same warning about an indecisive lifestyle in Scripture, including James 3:11: “Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?” The message is clear: if you choose to follow God, you cannot follow the world at the same time.
The great news is that when we choose to follow Christ alone, we are positioned to live with the eternal promise given in Revelation 3:21: “To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne.” So today, make the choice to commit fully to the Father and let the things of the world go.

🙏 Prayer Requests
- Pray for our Aquatics and Lifeguard teams as they continue training and serving—especially during this Sunday’s in-service—that they would be well-prepared, unified, and confident in every response.
- Pray for our staff across the building as programs and registrations continue (Winter sessions, Camp, and UPREP)—that we would have patience, clear communication, and a steady, joyful spirit as we support members and families.
- Pray for strong teamwork and mercy-filled relationships among our staff and guests this week—that God would help us extend grace, make room for one another, and reflect Christ in the way we serve.
