- Lily has stepped into the Membership Coordinator role to help cover the back-end administrative duties for membership. She will be splitting her time between Membership Coordinator on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday afternoons, and Marketing Assistant on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Friday mornings.
- Graeden, who works in the aquatics department, got promoted to Aquatics Lead. Let’s congratulate him as he starts training in this new role!

Holiness in Action
From its earliest days, The Salvation Army understood holiness as more than personal morality—it was a transformed life that could be seen in the way Christians treated the people around them. Early Salvationists entered some of the most difficult places in society, ministering among those experiencing poverty, addiction, homelessness, hunger, and exploitation. They believed that a holy life should produce compassionate action. William Booth’s well-known vision of “soup, soap, and salvation” reflected this conviction: meet people in their need while faithfully pointing them toward the transforming grace of Jesus Christ.
Romans 12:2 declares, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” For Salvationists, holiness has never been intended to separate us from the world we are called to serve. Instead, the transforming work of the Holy Spirit equips us to enter broken places without allowing brokenness to determine our values. We pursue holiness while feeding the hungry, caring for families, mentoring young people, welcoming the lonely, serving our communities, and sharing the hope of Christ.
Our mission this week is simple: let someone see the holiness of Christ through the way you serve them. Look for one person who needs encouragement, compassion, prayer, or practical assistance and intentionally respond. A corrupt world does not need Christians who merely condemn its darkness; it needs followers of Jesus whose transformed lives demonstrate His light. Holiness becomes missional when the change God is producing within us becomes the love, grace, and service we offer to others.

Pursuing Holiness in a Corrupt World
Romans 12:1–3
In Romans 12:1–3, Paul calls believers to live differently from the world around them. In view of God’s mercy, we are to present our bodies as “a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God.” Holiness is not simply something we believe—it is a life surrendered to God. Paul reminds us that genuine worship reaches beyond what happens on Sunday; it is expressed through the daily offering of our thoughts, choices, priorities, relationships, and actions to Christ.
Pursuing holiness becomes especially important when the values of the world conflict with the values of God’s Kingdom. Paul warns, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” The pressure to conform is real, but God has called His people to transformation. As our minds are renewed through Scripture, prayer, and the work of the Holy Spirit, our lives increasingly reflect the character of Christ. Holiness does not mean withdrawing from a broken world; it means living faithfully within it without allowing its values to shape who we become.
This week, ask yourself: What is shaping my life—the patterns of the world or the presence of Christ? Pursuing holiness requires daily surrender. Let us invite the Holy Spirit to reveal the places where compromise has begun to take root and allow Him to renew our hearts and minds. In a world that continually pressures us to conform, may we choose instead to be transformed—living as people who love God, love others, and faithfully serve the world while reflecting the holiness of Christ.
