Last Week for “Kroc Tank”! The deadline is Friday, September 28… We’re holding a competition for all Kroc Krew members to come up with the next big idea in radical hospitality. Submit an idea to your manager in writing or in person. It can be something simple in your department, or a huge plan for the whole Kroc Center. The managers will discuss all the ideas submitted and vote on the best. The winning entry will get a $100 Amazon gift card, and one (or more) ideas will be implemented at the Kroc. Good luck!
Monster Mash is coming! Registrations are rolling in for groups to hand out candy and information at this year’s Monster Mash on Friday, October 26. We already have more than a dozen outside groups signed up, not counting Kroc Center departments and the other Salvation Army units and groups that take part. If you know of an organization who might like an easy way to connect with a lot of people in a short time, information and forms are available at the Welcome Desk.
Coat Distribution November 3: Molina Healthcare of Michigan is holding a coat drive distribution event at the Kroc Center on Saturday, November 3. This will be a very large event, with more than 1,000 coats being provided to families in the Grand Rapids area. More information will be distributed next week — please consider volunteering for a few hours of this excellent community event.
Diabetes Prevention Program at the Kroc: The National Kidney Foundation of Michigan is now hosting a Spanish-language Diabetes Prevention Program here at the Kroc Center on Thursday nights at 6:30pm. This is a year-long program that is free to most participants. If you know anyone at risk for diabetes, this is an opportunity to move toward a healthier lifestyle. Please contact Carla Sanchez at csanchez@nkfm.org for more information.
Registration for Fall 2 programs opens this week! This will be the last opportunity for our members to take advantage of $5 fine arts classes (when registering before the early bird deadline). See the fall program guide for more information.
