SPRING PROGRAMS: The Spring session program listings are available in person and online, and registration begins Monday, March 8. We expect that due to our Active Families promotion offering a number of free programs for kids, demand will be very high, especially for swim lessons. For this reason, we are asking that employees do NOT sign up for programs (whether for yourself or a family member), at least through the end of March when we will have a better sense of what classes will have remaining space.

CAMP KROC UPDATE: The summer camp guide is almost ready, and we hope to open registration next week. Note that camp sign up is NOT handled through the Club Automation member portal or mobile app — we want to direct people to our website (GrKrocCenter.org) for links to the CampDoc system once it is ready.

NEW (RE)HIRES: Make sure to welcome (back) lifeguards returning to the Kroc Krew: Ben Tuit, Vickie Canales, Kelsey Cunningham, and Dominick Butler. It’s great to have you back!

 

GREENER COMMUNITIES EVENT: In cooperation with the Alger Garfield Neighbors Collaborative, the Kroc Center is hosting a virtual speaker panel on Tuesday, March 23 at 6:30pm. Speakers will be livestreamed from the WPAC for interested families to watch via YouTube and Facebook. Topics include Native Plants, Environmental Justice, Composting, and Climate Change. CUSTOMER SERVICE & SAFETY REMINDERS: #1 – SAFETY: We strive to provide emotional, mental, physical and spiritual safety for members/staff. The safety of our members, guest and staff is always paramount. This week, we will talk about safe behaviors in our building. Part of this is identifying hazards and eliminating risks.

 

Here are this week’s notes from Captains Bill & Taylor Brutto:

  • Special thanks to Kevin Chilton for his work with the Black History Month resource table. We gave away a total of about 150 books to our members!

  • We have an extra supply of older-style employee apparel you can take on a first-come, first-served basis. These items are still approved to wear as part of your work uniform. Please see one of us (the Bruttos) or Kristin Hoin if you would like to check out what is available.

  • The Wellness Room is available for one more week! We hope the resources provided (and, of course, the snacks) have been a useful pick-me-up. If you have other ideas for how we can encourage holistic wellness for our Kroc Krew, please let us know.

  • This week’s Core Value is We value quality in everything we do: The Kroc Center strives to offer a broad spectrum of impactful, innovative programs and services.

  • Scripture of the Week: Is anyone else excited about the weather forecast for this week and the changing seasons? God’s creation is always renewing itself, and us!

Send an email to RJ Kroc if you see someone going above and beyond for our guests! Here is a recent example:

  • Welcome Desk Lead Amy Seif took extra time to walk an uncertain member through the building and all the health and safety processes we have in place. The member had been on hold, but was so impressed they restarted their membership!

  • Chris Reinsma was spotted spending extra time with a member after Drum Fit class for a bonus 1-on-1 jam session 🙂

Here are some of the upcoming events and groups at the Kroc Center: 

  • Salvation Army Job Fair: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 10am-2pm, WPAC. From Divisional Headquarters… “The Salvation Army, WMNI Division, in conjunction with the Coronavirus Emergency Rental Assistance grant, has an immediate need for the following grant funded positions:

    • 15 Social Services Case Workers

    • 7 Social Services Intake Specialists

    • 1 Social Services Customer Services & Operations Manager

    We will be conducting on-site interviews at this job fair. Please bring your current resume’ and 2 pieces of ID with you. Masks are required.”
